Head - Corporate Credit

1. JOB PURPOSE

(Briefly describe the general purpose of the position or its significance from the organization's point of view and how it contributes to the overall mission/objective of the organization).

- Lead and guide the team of Credit analysts reviewing BU 3 (CFG) group proposals. The incumbent would be responsible for efficient and effective proposal reviews including exercising credit delegations. The incumbent would also contribute towards development of credit policy, norms, rating matrix and various other credit related projects.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Review of high value credit proposals with a view to give credit opinion / concurrence (if within delegation) Monitor credit appraisals & ratings undertaken by Credit Team.

- Monitoring of exposure to different industry sectors, the environment for the respective sectors and provide inputs on strategy to Business Team and Senior Management.

- Facilitate the process of annual review of credit files / portfolio.

- Monitoring of stressed and NPA accounts.

- Contribute towards development of CFG / SME credit policy, norms, and other development projects like LGD, EDA and RAROC model developments.

- Provide guidance and on the job training to the team of analysts reporting as well as to the marketing team through proposal specific discussions.

- Build an efficient credit and underwriting team to effectively cater to the needs of the Credit Function.

3. DIMENSIONS:
(List the significant numerical data which will reflect the scope and scale of activities concerning this job). Financial Dimensions (These should be quantifiable numerical amounts like annual budgets, project costs, annual revenue, purchase value etc.).

- Review, rating and monitoring of credit proposals of approx. INR 50 Bio annually Expense budget for various development projects like LGD, Credit Platform Software etc. Losses arising out of NPAs / restructured accounts

- Other Dimensions (Indication of some of the significant volumes associated with the job like number in team/ staff handled etc).

- Turnaround time (TAT) for credit proposals Quality of inputs to senior management and credit committee on proposal reviewed. Underwriting (UW) for various products, in line with best-in-class benchmarks Deviations from documented policy, and number of upward escalations

4. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Educational Qualifications

- CA or MBA in Finance/Marketing.

- Engineering background would be an added qualification.

Functional Skills:

- The official should have developed credit skills through functional experience in credit risk / corporate business team with a major bank / NBFC.

- Strategic thinker with ability to appreciate the entire gamut of risk issues facing financial institutions.

- Good communication skills

- Good leadership skills to take the team along and deliver the departmental / organizational goals.

- Interaction with peers and seniors in other functions

Relevant and total years of Experience:

- Around 15 years of credit risk / corporate business management experience with 5 years at senior levels in a Bank / NBFC. Relationship Management experience would be added qualification.
