- Will build and manage a central reporting and business management utility which provides support to the overall COO function of Operations. The utility will engage with the Operations business services and provide information to drive decision making and to help deliver the Operations 2020 strategy. - The role will partner with COO Pillar Heads, the Central COO functions, and Business Managers to ensure the right data, reporting, and support model is sustainably established. This role will deliver efficiencies from BAU by standardizing, streamlining, and automating key deliverables, and by replicating best practice through centralized governance and control. The role holder is also an entity manager for an offshore COO team across different locations. - Build an effective team to support the many dimensions of the COE operating model - Demonstrate competency in strategic planning and organizational development - Manage clearly defined projects and programs with the team to achieve desired operating model - Understand and translate Group strategy for Operations and align direction for self and the team - Lead from the front by courageously setting and executing stretch goals for self and the team - Authentically engaging a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver at pace - Stay abreast of industry trends and foster the implementation of competitors- best-practices within the Group - Keep stakeholders engaged in execution through regular progress updates - Understand and translate complex business situations into tangible goals and action on Observation of Internal Controls - Enable COO deliverables in line with the business services/regional goals which are in line with the GO key goals Experience: - Experience in an Operations division of a large financial institution - Excellent project management skills with a proven delivery track record - Ability to directly manage a large team - Excellent relationship management and influencing skills - Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics - Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to manage large data sets, and teach staff the same - The ability to analyze complex issues and identify/assess the long-term, strategic implications for the Bank and its customers - Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance etc
