Hiring B.E. Civil with experience in Construction of Hotels/ Resorts / Schools for a developer in Gurgaon.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of Industry experience in the buildings construction industry having worked with EPC or developer companies. Should be familiar with project / construction management processes.
- The candidate should be hands on with value engineering, should be able to challenge the EPC contractor.
- Well versed with Value Engineering analysis and facilitating inputs at all stages of Design & Construction.
- Capable of managing projects independently and possess strong people skills and stakeholder management
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the Projects within Time, Cost & Quality
- Progress of works against the project schedule
- Reconciliation of project cost V/s approved budget
- Turnaround time
- Timely procurement finalization of vendors as per the agreed time lines
Project Management & Strategic Thinking
- Manages various parts of a project
- Define roles and responsibilities for other members in team
- Coaches others in project management
- Communicates project status and key milestones to stakeholders
- Prioritize risks and provide inputs for risk mitigation
- Anticipates bottlenecks in advance/areas of concern in project implementation
- Devises approach for eliminating such areas of concern/removes organizational barriers
- Develops guidelines for Project Management
- Provide inputs on framework for risk management
Knowledge Engineering, Construction & Installation practices
- Aware of all critical steps and checks for activities for different phases of design, engineering and construction
- Able to apply knowledge of engineering material & equipment while working with PMC/contractor
- Aware of operating procedures for complex material/equipment & their substitutes
- Able to apply knowledge of corrosion protection techniques while dealing with PMC and contractor
- Defines guidelines and framework for all checks/audits to be conducted for key activities
- Conversant with new applications and technology in the industry & can add value to existing practices by adopting new techniques
Civil & Structural (Design/Construction/Maintenance):
- Sound knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines
- Advanced knowledge of design and construction techniques and trends in construction
- Ability to clearly define procurement strategies for each project
- Ability to understand the impact of cost and time
Quality & HSE Management:
- Set up new quality standard parameters
- Modifies existing quality management system
- Develops and defines framework for quality control system
- Remove all bottlenecks/areas of concern for quality and HSE
- Participates in quality control reviews
- Defines acceptable tolerance limits in quality control
- Ensure that all HSE guidelines are met in all areas of work
Monitoring activities of EPC/PMC:
- Define scope of work/key activities for EPC based on contract
- Take appropriate action for all changes
- Provide inputs/support to PMC & contractor
- Define guidelines/mechanism for monitoring and tracking
- Participate in high level meeting and act decisively
Project Controls (Cost and Scheduling):
- Able to forecast movement of costs in the project
- Define approaches for cost reduction
- Provide inputs and guide PMC on ways to curb escalation of costs
- Able to forecast movement of schedules in the project
- Provide inputs and guide PMC for sticking to schedules
- Take corrective action for slippages
Managing Documents & other data:
- Review all documents/data
- Ensure that all data is collated at defined intervals
- Provide inputs on reports
- Ensure that all reports are generated on time
- Review reports on select basis
Contracts & Procurement:
- Advanced knowledge of construction /other project contracts
- Ability to independently draft and negotiate complex contracts
- Good knowledge of excel and cost/quantity estimation techniques
- Ability to interpret complex legal & commercial issues and have the ability to identify related issues in different contracts
- Ability to render independent opinion on matters of claims and disputes and suggest dispute avoidance measures
- Ability to guide & direct other members on any commercial, legal or estimation matter
