Head to develop & implement Legal strategy and Policy framework:
- Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to health insurance, including those set by IRDAI and other regulatory bodies.
- Draft and review insurance policies, contracts with healthcare providers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and protect the company's interests.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments in the insurance sector. Develop and implement strategies to ensure timely compliance with new regulations.
- Draft and review legal documents necessary for the business operations, including agreements, policies, and internal procedures.
- Manage disputes and legal claims effectively, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation when necessary.
- Conduct training programs to educate employees on legal issues relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
- Establish and promote a culture of ethical behavior and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the organization.
- Provide expert advice on the interpretation of insurance policies and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and advisors as needed for specialized legal expertise or litigation support.
You could be the right candidate if you:
- At least 14 years of experience in various facets of Legal & Compliance management across insurance/ BFSI
- Have a degree in Law (LL.b or equivalent) from a reputed institution.
- Extensive legal experience in practicing law with a focus on Insurance, Corporate law or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of health insurance business, regulations & compliances
- Extensive experience engaging with IRDAI
- Have startup experience or setting up a team from scratch (Preferred but not mandatory)
