- The position is responsible for developing a product buying strategy & buying media based on strong analytics, negotiation skills and networking ability.

- This is to provide the best possible cost saving to the client & is equally responsible to negotiate break-through innovations based on brand’s media strategies. This position if for a leading Advertising Agency.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Liaise with planning team to understand the media strategy in detail and the objective of the plans to be bought

- Create a buying plan and negotiation approach that will yield the best value to the client

- Leverage network processes to set the best buying targets

- Negotiate for the set targets using analytics, networking and negotiation skills

- Build market intelligence about the rates made available to competing agencies and brands

- Develop and negotiate clutter breaking innovations

- Stay abreast of industry trends and new advertising opportunities

- Troubleshoot during execution so that implementation is as per buying benchmarks

- Monitor the CPRP of the campaign and ensure delivery of agreed target

- Monitor the pre and post evaluations to gauge effectiveness of the buys and apply learnings for future negotiations

- Ensure that the buying team maintains buying data MIS and deal tracking at all points in time

- Continuously meet media owners (channels, newspapers, magazines etc) to build strong network

- Work closely with the planning team to ensure that buying and planning are working in tandem and with synergy.

- Build network with company and bring to bear all resources and systems / processes available on the businesses

- Provide coaching, support and leadership to the team and ensure adequate skills and competencies are developed in the team

- Set specific buying targets and overall SMART KPIs for team and provide regular guidance and feedback to help them meet their targets.
