1. POSITION VACANT: Head Business Development, Reputed Non-Profit Organization, New Delhi

2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:

Our client is a respected non-profit, that works across the globe to promote children's survival, protection and sustainable development.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Business Development (DBD), the Head Business Development (HBD) shall be responsible for driving the organization's business development strategies. S/he shall enlarge and improve the current portfolio, explore new business opportunities and carry out business strategies that are in line with organizational objectives.

The HBD shall direct a team to identify regional market opportunities, assess market demand and provide new offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Creating strategies and developing implementation plans for the acquisition and retention of corporate clients and partners, including their end-to-end servicing;

(2) Leading corporate marketing initiatives with a special focus on closing deals and achieving aggressive targets, in alignment with the objectives of the organization. S/he shall deploy appropriate research tools to provide quality leads to corporates with an interest in supporting thematic areas in which the organization works;

(3) Establishing business development strategies to ensure the overall organizational strategy is followed;

(4) Developing new corporate partnerships, through increased reach-outs to large and medium-sized corporate organizations;

(5) Conducting surveys for identifying potential corporates and industry segments for the organization;

(6) Driving product research to understand future impacts on product offerings and their roll-out; Assessing client/ partner alignment, following up on leads, and arranging for meetings and presentations;

(7) Conducting meetings with potential clients/ partners and supporting the closure of deals, to acquire new client partnerships;

(8) Ensuring compliance and ensuring timely and accurate reviews and reporting;

(9) Ensuring regular communication with corporate clients/ partners to provide them updates on ongoing initiatives and their impact;

(10) Leading the development of business intelligence frameworks to improve data analytics and market assessments.

(11) Obtaining and sharing information on best practices/ success stories with team members to build capabilities;

(12) Coordinating internal communications to enhance awareness of organizational direction, mission, aims, and activities; Providing training to the team on product and pitch, to ensure their productivity and improved performance;

(13) Building a learning and development culture for the Business Development team;

(14) Improving proposal writing; Seeking continuous feedback from stakeholders to improve service delivery to corporate partners;

(15) Leading relationship-building with industry players and developing strategies to leverage the network for business opportunities and partnerships.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants should be post-graduates or equivalent.

Experience:

- 12 years of experience and demonstrated success in handling market-driven, external-facing roles, and assuming progressively increasing responsibilities.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) High energy, passion, and hunger for doing impactful work;

(2) Strong result orientation, with a history of exceeding expectations;

(3) Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder relationships;

(4) Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;

(5) Hands-on, intrapreneurial leadership style, with a growth and learning mindset;

(6) Ability to work independently yet in a collaborative manner in a fast-paced, dynamic, agile environment;

(7) Excellent team management skills to ensure a productive and result-oriented focus and delivery from each team member;

(8) Excellent communication skills (English and Hindi). Must have proven writing, presentation and people management skills.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
