Job Title: Head - Business Development (EPC) For Pan India

Job Summary:
The "Head - Business Development" (Domestic Projects) will lead Strategic Planning of Oil & Gas/Refinery/Petrochemical/Heavy Engineering (Fabrication & Manufacturing). This role demands strong technical expertise in Tendering & Proposals, Commercials, Vendor Management, Customer Relationship Management & Profitability of (Greenfield / Brownfield Projects - EPC, Construction, Engineering Services, O&M, Shutdowns).
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Drive business development efforts, expanding the company's market share in the capital equipment industry.
- Lead the sales team in identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and negotiating contracts.
Technical Expertise:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of EPC-Greenfield & Brownfield Projects, LSTK & Heavy Fabrications of storage tanks (API 650), Pipeline, Jetties, Terminals in Oil & Gas Industry.
- Proficient in API 650 / API 653, IS: 803, NFPA 16, 20, knowledge in OISD and relevant codes for storage tank construction. Knowledge in LPG Terminals, mounded storage bullets, double walled storage tank construction etc will be of added value.
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to align customer requirements with product development.
- Tendering & Proposals: Evaluation and selection of tenders that fit the company's capabilities and strategic growth objectives such as market expansion, securing key clients or entering new sectors.
- Market and competitors Analysis for bidding, reviewing proposal, compliance check and post tender review.
- Partnering / Consortium / MOU / JV Agreements for pre-qualification, collective bidding.
Financial Acumen & Pricing:
- Lead pricing strategy formulation to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
- Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and client budgets to optimize pricing models.
- Handle complex negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the company while maximizing margins.
- Proven expertise in pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and profitability analysis.
- Familiarity with banking instruments like Letters of Credit (LCs) and Bank Guarantees.
- Knowledge of local and international taxation, customs duties, and regulatory compliance.
Commercial & Logistics Expertise:
- Manage all commercial aspects of contracts, including payment terms, credit limits, and legal documentation.
- Oversee logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local and international taxation, customs formalities, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage documentation for Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees, and financial instruments.
Marketing & Brand Development:
- Develop marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and digital strategies to enhance brand awareness.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
- Create content for brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials that highlight product strengths and applications.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and train team members in technical sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management.
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide feedback to achieve desired outcomes.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, consultants, and industry partners.
- Act as the main point of contact for escalated customer inquiries, resolving issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular market research and customer feedback analysis to tailor products and services to client needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent in Sales/Marketing is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in Business Development (International & Domestic) EPC Greenfield & Brownfield Projects, LSTK & Heavy Fabrications of storage tanks (API 650), Pipeline, Jetties, Terminals in Oil & Gas Industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of API 650 / API 653, relevant codes for storage tank construction.
- Knowledge in LPG Terminals, mounded storage bullets, double walled storage tank construction etc will be of added value.
- Strong knowledge in EPC engineering, technical specifications, and industry applications.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
Travel:
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for business development.
- Languages known: English, Hindi & any other regional language is preferred.
