Position: Head - Business Development (B2B) - API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient)

Location: Hyderabad

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join their team as the National Head of Business Development for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient). In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for driving B2B sales initiatives nationwide, fostering business development opportunities, and leveraging his extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry to expand their market presence.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve targets and maximize revenue growth for API products across India.

2. Lead and manage a high-performing sales and business development team, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure objectives are met.

3. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, distributors, and other relevant entities.

4. Identify new business opportunities and develop innovative strategies to capitalize on market trends and emerging opportunities.

5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and R&D, to align sales efforts with organizational objectives.

6. Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform business decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sales processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency.

8. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility and expand professional networks.

9. Prepare and present regular reports, forecasts, and analysis to senior management, providing insights into sales performance and market dynamics.

10. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and quality standards, maintaining the highest level of ethical conduct and professionalism.

Qualification & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Business Administration, or related field. MBA preferred.

- Minimum of 18+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical sales and business development, with a focus on API products.

- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in the pharmaceutical industry.

- Strong network of contacts within the pharmaceutical sector, including key decision-makers and influencers.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and motivating teams to deliver exceptional performance.

- Sound knowledge of industry regulations, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.

- Ability to travel extensively as required.
