Business Compliance Advisory
Purpose of Job:
The Senior Compliance role will manage and drive all advisory and regulatory aspects of the Compliance Department. To lead developing and updating various Compliance programs, policies, and procedures, attending senior level meetings, providing Compliance guidance to the lines of business, identifying and addressing necessary training in line with regulatory and industry trends.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily to support business Advisory, to maintain an effective control framework and to ensure compliance with all relevant external laws & regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practices.
- Provide advisory services to business, in order to ensure clear understanding of compliance risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products.
- Ensure the company is compliant with all the applicable regulatory guidelines
- Disseminating regulations to business and support function and provide ongoing advisory services
- Play the central role in identifying the level of regulatory Compliance risk in the NBFC, the compliance risks in existing / new products and processes shall be analysed and appropriate risk mitigants put in place.
- Support in overseeing the critical Compliance policies and systems that impact the NBFC and ensure that the Group's exposure to Regulatory Compliance is managed in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost-effective manner.
- To exercise risk steward challenge, act as independent trusted advisory in governance forums, issue management, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with risk owners and control owners.
- Good understanding of regulatory agency examining banks, in the field of banking compliance providing advice and/or guidance on banking regulations and possess
- Act as advisory to training team wrt to compliance policies and processes to be followed.
- Manage business arrangements in support of the effective operation of the Board of Directors and ensure good information flows into the Board, and between the Board and its appointed Committees
- Bring to the attention Management Team any areas of compliance risk, that are not otherwise addressed
Candidate Profile:
- 12-15 years in handling the Compliance role preferably at NBFCs.
- Excellent knowledge about regulations
- Capable of building positive and resilient partnerships with key stakeholders
- Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
- Excellent communication skills with very strong inter-personal and influencing skills
- Track record of working autonomously
- Decision-making capability
