Title: AVP - Procurement Supplier Assessment
Essetial Responsibilities:
- Process Owner: Reputational Risk. Identify, document, and mitigate risk posed to operations and reputation through events and actions involving suppliers by monitoring media and other sources. Document identified risks and raise to appropriate managers
- Process Owner: Country Risk. Gather supplier location data for use in concentration analysis, crisis management, and identify locations outside of the United States. Monitor events in countries where suppliers are present and advise management of developments that may impact operations
- Process Owner: Concentration Risk. Identify suppliers supporting multiple key processes or that are in close physical proximity to other suppliers or sites such that a negative event in the area is likely to disrupt multiple key processes. Determine the scale of concentration risk and advise management of actions to reduce risk.
- Serve as Supplier Manager and Model Owner for suppliers that support assessment processes
- Maintain process documentation including Standard Operating Procedure, Reports, and Training/Job Aids
- Support Regulatory, Audit, and other requests for data and documentation participate in examinations/audits as necessary
- Develop and present periodic reports to Bank executives, including the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Procurement Officer
- Coordinate with other risk specialists (i.e. Financial, Security/Crisis Management) to share information and develop joint response plans as necessary
- Demonstrate deep, up-to-date knowledge of regulatory compliance of the financial services sector
- Execute other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of leading teams, overall 10+ years of experience
- Minimum 6+ years of previous management/leadership experience
- Ability to evaluate and organize large quantities of written information to identify patterns or reinforcing signals
- Demonstrated ability to solve open-ended problems with minimal direction from initial idea through full implementation
- Strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills with ability to summarize data, identify trends and evaluate risk/opportunities
- Strong business judgment demonstrated in complex situations - knowing the right questions to ask to separate noise from signal and successfully applying knowledge gained to make difficult decisions
- Ability to work US Eastern time zone business hours
Desired Characteristics:
- Direct experience at a Bank, Financial Institution, or major supplier to Financial Services industry
- Demonstrated experience influencing and working effectively with senior management and peers to launch new processes or improve existing
- Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize upon opportunities to measurably improve work processes, supplier mix, or other projects with clearly identifiable business impact
- Intelligence gathering background, preferably of suppliers supporting the financial industry
- Success in achieving stretch goals with a strong work ethic
- Project management experience driving project execution through planning, tracking, reporting, and control
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated process design and change management experience
- Competent computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows as well as project planning and execution tools
- Experience creating presentations for a variety of audiences with the ability to succinctly communicate ideas and recommendations
- Demonstrated independent strategic thinking and ability to deliver results
- Self-motivated, strong sense of urgency, ability to energize others to act
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and detail-oriented skills
