Role : Head / AVP - Fixed Income ( Insurance Industry)

Location : Mumbai / Pune / Maharashtra

Role :

Responsible for managing and monitoring traditional fixed income fund to generate returns higher than defined benchmarks and market. Prepare asset liability management strategy and quarterly reports & Report to Chief Investment Officer

1. Fixed Income Fund Management (Traditional Funds)

- Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge

- Analyze and create a view on the rate of interest (up and down) and accordingly adjust investment durations, etc.

- Evaluate the nature/ type of papers bought in terms of yield, duration, segment, etc. to maximize return in line with the view on interest, credit and ALM.

- Review investments and decisions to ensure no limits are breached and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

- Participate in internal investment meetings with peers and CIO to deliberate the view on interest rate,, credit and liquidity and put forth analysis to enable decision making.

- Take decision on investment and provide instructions to dealer on the transaction for settlement

- Prepare the fixed income fund management report / update for presenting to the investment committee

- Provide estimations of income projection for shareholder funds to Finance team for financial projections.

2. Asset Liability Management (ALM)

- Apply deep understanding of various products and prepare liability with various scenarios, compute asset and liability duration and project cashflows

- Consolidate information and prepare the ALM report across the various funds for the quarterly ALM meeting

- Analyze and review alignment of investments with ALM framework quarterly to identify and report deviations

- Regularly review all fixed income and other investments to ensure alignment with liability requirements and ensure sufficient liquidity is available at all times to meet payout requirements.

3. Credit Research

- Analyze the financials of the companies, engage with management, attend investor calls, etc. to evaluate and ensure risk reward is favorable for the companies we are invested in

- Monitor and make an assessment and recommend credit that can be upgraded/ downgraded

4. Product Development & Sales support

- Represent the investment team at the product development committee to provide ideas and inputs for new product development and evaluate product ideas for investment feasibility

- Support Sales by engaging with HNIs to answer questions on technical side and enable closure of sales calls

- Prepare and deliver investment presentations to sales teams to share a view of the market and investment outlook

- Respond to customer queries / complaints as received internally from Customer Service team and talk directly to customers, if required

5. Team management

- Motivate, engage and retain the team

- Establish individual performance expectations and evaluation metrics, and regularly review individual performance

- Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge

6. Decision Making

- Take decisions related to traditional fixed income fund management and investment of portfolio

- Preparing a Asset Liability Management strategy

Education, Qualifications & Work Experience:

- CFA/ MBA / CA

- 10+ years of experience in Insurance / Asset Management company with an understanding of products, regulations, etc. across departments

- Understating of Fixed Income Market and Fund Management experience with a reasonably large fund house
