Head Supply Chain (Apparel Retail)
Desired Qualification: B.E, MBA operations, Certificate course in Six Sigma or Inventory Management
Necessary Exposure - Should have essentially worked in similar capacity of heading Supply chain function for a complex business function.
Key Skills - Planning Skills, Project Management, Ability to set up & manage processes, Vendor Management
Computer Proficiency - Should be comfortable in ERP system, MS – Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Job Purpose - To lead the development & implementation of the supply chain strategy to support brand goals
Principal Relationships –
- Within Organization: Business Heads, Business SCM, HODs .
- Outside Organization: Consultants, Vendors.

The role would be responsible to introduce and implement the best practices in the areas of -
Forecasting:
- Develop mechanisms to anticipate market / economic trends impacting forecasting needs or marketing changes impacting forecasting requirements, and plan go to market strategies accordingly.
- Oversee management of parameters and settings for safety stock and lead time values for domestic as well as international markets
- Develop Business Intelligence System for optimization of data used in various analysis
Customer Service, Supplier Connectivity and Order Fulfillment:
- Develop systems and processes that would help deliver information and real-time product availability to customers that are integrated with the brand's real time demand and supply situation.
- Develop global implementation of distribution best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, demand planning, and SKU optimization.
Strategic Procurement & New Product Development:
- Develop a sourcing strategy for the brand, to ensure supply continuity, of the highest quality materials, in time, at the optimum cost.
- Drive commercialization of products that expedites the development and launching of appropriate new & quality products within shorter time spans and optimum cost
Manufacturing Flow:
- Studying all activities relating to planning, scheduling, and supporting manufacturing operations, including storage, handling, inventory optimization, and logistics; and conceptualize, develop and implement processes which are flexible, linked, and operating at consistent levels to provide a manufacturing process that delivers by way of shorter cycle times and on time deliveries
Organizational:
- Work closely with IT team to optimize use of data for Inventory Planning, Purchase and Sales Functions
Developing Synergy between Marketing, Sales and Operations for supply chain inputs
- Work closely with SCM team to enhance their capability by continuous training & coaching.
- Conceptualize & monitor cost management initiatives across the group.
