Reports to Deputy MD
To build out a strong presence in emerging channels - E-commerce, Modern Trade and Govt./CSD channels. This role would lead the growth and profitability of Emerging Channels for the B2C businesses of the company.
The role will shape the strategic direction of the emerging channels, create the business build plan and lead execution of the agenda to grow the business over the next 3-5 years. The role will work closely with the leadership team to make this happen.
Key expectations from the role are :
a. Define the strategic direction and business build plan for emerging channels for B2C
- Defining the strategy and vision for emerging channels for all B2C businesses of the company across ECommerce, Modern Trade and Govt. / CSD channels
- P&L ownership for all B2C businesses of the company across ECommerce, Modern Trade and Govt. / CSD channels
- Delivery of channel and category wise AOP objectives (revenue, profitability, reach across accounts)
- Building the talent, team and structure required to achieve the objectives laid out
b. Lead operations and execution to deliver the roadmap for emerging channels for B2C
- Lead the ECommerce, Modern Trade and Govt. / CSD teams in ToT/JBP negotiations, scheme/discount design
- Ensure on-boarding of new chains, withdrawing / recovering in low performing chains across channels
- Drive performance marketing objectives and optimization via the ECommerce team
- Lead ECommerce head to setup mechanisms to minimize unauthorized sellers and drive A+ content
- Lead Modern Trade head to drive right business metrics for JBP execution at a quarterly level, ensure cost control in line with AOP
- Ensure efficiency in supply chain and inventory, drive special projects with backend teams to improve OTIF
- Optimize cost to serve across emerging channels
- Lead setup of data driven review and monitoring governance
- Setup right audit mechanisms to ensure on-ground compliance to initiatives (e.g., visibility in Modern Trade)
- Set right performance metrics for the emerging channel teams and drive employee productivity
c. Liaison with the broader leadership team
- Work with BU heads for traditional trade channels to streamline product portfolio and pricing
- Work with marketing team on brand positioning, campaigns and BTL
- Work with the Finance and Supply Chain to help in planning and delivering objectives of the category in ECommerce, Modern Trade and Govt. / CSD.
3. Experience and skill set requirements :
- Experience and hand-on experience across ECommerce and Modern trade setups
