Head of Accounts- B2B e-commerce
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring the preparation of accurate and reliable financial statements under GAAP and company standards.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts that align with strategic objectives and financial targets.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying variances and trends, and providing insights and recommendations to senior management to drive business decisions.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SOX 404.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely completion of audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements.
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and career advancement.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and optimize the use of financial systems and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and HR, to support strategic initiatives, M&A activities, and other corporate projects.
- Stay abreast of emerging accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/PG degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting
- Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing financial close processes and preparing financial statements for a complex organization.
- Proven track record of implementing internal controls and compliance initiatives, including SOX 404.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve results.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
