Position Overview:
- The Head of Accounting and Finance Shared Services will be responsible for building and scaling up the Accounting and Finance Shared Services team from scratch.
- This role requires a visionary leader who can design, implement, and manage the shared services operations to achieve high efficiency and effectiveness.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance and accounting, strong leadership skills, and a track record of establishing and growing shared services functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the establishment and scaling of the Accounting and Finance Shared Services function.
- Define the scope, structure, and processes for the shared services center, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall business objectives.
Team Building and Management:
- Recruit, hire, and onboard a high-performing team of accounting and finance professionals.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance goals and metrics for the team, ensuring accountability and high standards of service delivery.
Financial Operations Setup:
- Establish and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in financial operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
Compliance and Control:
- Design and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Oversee internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the shared services operations.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline financial processes and enhance service delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of the shared services center and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with senior management and other departments to ensure alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to accounting and finance shared services.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA/CA certification is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance,
- Proven experience in building and scaling shared services operations from scratch.
- Demonstrated track record of managing large teams and overseeing complex financial operations.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with experience in ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
