Job Description:
The Job role shall primarily be responsible to oversee and monitor Compliance with Indirect Tax Regulation and ensure controls are properly operating
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Tax Compliances:
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Review and analyzes of the Business operations and suggested tax compliance requirements
- Lead the Query management
- Liaising with external consultants and Counsel where required to facilitate advice to operations/business units.
Tax Process :
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide insight into the forthcoming proposed Indirect tax changes
- Participate in forecasting mid-to-long-term tax planning
- Ensure smooth roll-out of the process suggested
Knowledge Management:
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Analyzing the impact of the latest circular/ notification/ case laws pertaining to Indirect Tax and briefing the same to senior management regarding the impact.
- Analyzing the Finance Bill and providing the impacts of the amendments to the senior management
Tax Assessment :
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead the team in handling the Tax investigation and Assessments under Indirect Tax
- Reviewing submissions and appearing before the revenue authorities.
- Briefing senior management on the status of Investigation.
Tax litigation :
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Co-ordinating with the council to decide upon the way forward w.r.t. to ongoing litigation
- Ensuring timely filing of appeals before the Appellate authorities.
Management reporting :
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Briefing to the Tax head on Indirect tax matter for CFO reporting purpose
- Briefing to the tax head on Indirect Tax matter for Audit Committee presentation
Representation before Authorities
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead the representation to be made to CBEC on the matter relating to banking operation.
- Meeting revenue authorities and following up for various representations done.
SUPPLEMENTARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead a team in the smooth implementation of GST Regime in Indirect tax
- Ensuring overall Indirect tax compliance and smooth implementation of the tax processes
Previous Experience Required: 15 years post Qualification experience in the field of Indirect Tax
