As an Information Architect, you will guide Product teams on information architecture, data standards, master data, and data quality. The Information Architect is responsible for the development of data standards and practices and for defining data models and aligning it with the enterprise architectural plan.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Undertake detailed analysis of the information management requirements across research systems and platforms to guide the development of information management standards in line with the research target architecture.
- Define, develop and communicate research information management standards related to security
- Define, develop and communicate the research data classification standards to promote consistent and optimal data management practices
- Develop and maintain AS-IS and TO-BE research data models
- To develop, maintain and socialize target Information architectures to optimize the organization, storage, flow and integration of data across applications and processes within business domains.
- To develop Target Information Architectures, to include (but is not limited to):
- The business requirements for data processing and reporting
- The business expectations for the quality of the data
- The strategy for data collection, management & maintenance
- The overall organization of the data (transactional systems, reporting systems, management systems) and the metadata
- The conceptual-level data design (e.g. business information models) Data lifecycle management, including archival, of data
- The interlock with other strategies such as process, application, infrastructure and business intelligence
- To provide Design Authority for implementation of the Target Information Architecture.
- To drive the adoption of the Target Information Architecture on related projects.
- To drive the adoption of data standards and data quality management techniques within the business and IT
communities.
- To drive the definition and adoption of master data sources within the business and IT communities.
- To ensure that cross-organizational data access requirement, including at the GSK Corporate level, are understood and are appropriately addressed within the Target Information Architecture.
- To keep abreast of emerging trends in data integration and design technologies and integrate them into the target architectures when appropriate

- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar discipline
- 8+ years relevant pharma research experience and / or exposure to enterprise architecture in an IT organization
- Experience with the pharma research process (Discovery, Product Development and Clinical Trials Supply)
- Track record in successful information architecture and design.
- Track record in delivering business impact through IT enabled solutions
- Experience of Agile and DevOps
- Experience with all artefacts of modelling information in an enterprise (business process diagrams, ER conceptual / logical / physical models)
- Strong influencing and communication skills
- Track record in successful application of data integrity principles (ALCOA+ / FAIR) Knowledge of pharm research systems and platforms (IP/experiment capture, logistics, scientific tools, HPC, LIMs, SDMS, analytics)
- Experience deploying data catalogs and master data solutions in a large enterprise
- Experience with relational databases
Preferred Qualifications:
- If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Masters or PhD in computer science, engineering or similar discipline
- Experience constructing a data fabric or similar architecture
- Design and architecture of BI and analytic environments
- Integration of AI and ML in business applications
- Experience with agile in large enterprises (SAFe)
- Experience with noSQL, graph and cloud databases
