In the Purchase to Pay Global Process Owner team, we work together to provide vital and highly valued P2P processes and solutions to enable and support GSK's strategic priorities. The purpose of this role is to act as Champion, Owner, and Custodian of all P2P Systems e.g. ERP, Trintech, ReconNet and RPA. In doing so, the Digital and Data Lead is responsible for the ERP template design, and the documentation of that process design. The Lead is also responsible for defining the data standards and to assess and articulate business requirements, analyse design options, seek out and assess solution simplification opportunities where business case justification exists. This will include looking at alternative systems option e.g. new cloud solutions They will drive the business towards common, standard global solutions.
Role Expectation :
Template Governance - the Digital and Data Lead is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the template. In doing so, they are required to :
- Partner with the Controllership and P2P Transactions GPOs to initiate template change requests, and in conjunction with the Principal Functional Consultants, assess those changes and determine feasibility and contribute input to business benefit Partner with the - Business- stakeholders to initiate template change requests, and in conjunction with the Principal Functional Consultants, assess those changes and determine feasibility and contribute input to business benefit
- Develop and present (or support the presentation of) proposed template change to the relevant governance bodies for review and approval
- Exercise a Power of Veto over requested template changes
- Ensure that the ERP template remains compliant with legal and fiscal or regulatory requirements across countries
- Continually seek to standardize and simplify the template to reduce ongoing business and implementation costs.
Strategic input - The Digital & Data Lead will leverage their skills and expertise to provide input and insight to strategic aspects of the ERP space. In doing so, they will need to :
- Build relationships and influence at a senior level within the P2P space Assess impact of changing GSK operating models and strategic initiatives in template design.
- Act as an expert consultant to strategic initiatives where appropriate.
- Provide input to P2P aspects of ERP strategy in partnership with the PFCs, including reviewing latest technologies and benchmarking against peers.
- Partner with the P2P GPOs to promote alignment to ERP template/process standards and design across non-ERP programme and solutions, and pipeline projects and initiatives Chair the Communities of Practice for that process, to provide support to live markets as they implement - retrofit- changes, to ensure shared learning, and to maximize standard process adoption.
Outside-In Views : This role will also partner with their Principle Functional Consultants to understand new technology opportunities in the marketplace and assess if and how they will improve GSK's processes. They will benchmark against peers to validate GSK's pace of technological advancement and understand how other organizations are gaining cost and efficiencies through tech.
Solution Design & Documentation : The Digital and Data Lead is responsible for defining the solution process design and maintaining documentation thereof. In doing so, the Digital and Data Lead is required to :
- Support implementation teams through direct involvement in Solution Alignment / Legal Fiscal gap analysis / market/site scoping exercise
- Evaluate and critically analyse local market / community of practice requests for localizations or foundation enhancements
- Proactively assess solution design against future state business processes and potential future requirements
- Understand the SAP solution at a high level and consult with functional consultants where required
- With governance business case approval (where appropriate), assess alternatives and develop solutions in conjunction with the Principle Functional Consultants and their teams that :
- Are technically feasible (i.e. that the proposed design will work and can be implemented in SAP)
- Are functionally appropriate (i.e. meets the relevant business requirements)
- Are cost effective (i.e, that no cheaper alternative solution exists to meet the requirement)
- Are aligned to the ERP global template (i.e. minimised local variation from template)
- Are supportable and upgradeable (i.e. limits the amount of custom coding)
- Incorporate appropriate controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. SOX) - working in conjunction with the Controls and QRC team
- Are complimentary to the global solution and strategic intent.
- Work closely with Global Business Process Owners, ensuring alignment to corporate strategies Ensure that global template solution documentation (ie SOPs and BPSDs) is accurate and current Maintain an oversight role regarding Training Materials.
- Assess Data remedy tickets sent to the team to determine if the issue may be caused by problems relating to master data :
Root cause the issue :
- Determine if the change is - local- or - global-
- If the change is Global, then engage stakeholders and conduct an impact assessment
- Determine which data tables need to be updated and provide this detail to tech
- If Global ensure sign-off by P2P MD GPO
- Engage with users on the impact of the fix via engagement forums
Collate and analyze tickets to determine if there is a systemic issue e.g. EGOL :
- Root cause the issue
- Determine if the change is - local- or - global-
- If the change is Global, then engage stakeholders and conduct an impact assessment
- Recommend the fix to tech
- Engage with users on the impact of the fix via the P2P COP
- Assess and sign-off requests for new GL accounts and Profit centers triggered by changes to Bison.
- New Accounting standards
- Receive instruction from the P2P MD GPO on the requirement for new GL Accounts
- Assess requirements for data tables
- Raise a ticket with the Tech for creation/changes etc
- Analyze Master Data sets e.g. WBS or Cost Centers to determine if we have proliferation or misalignment.
Master Data Project Activities :
Triggers for Master Data Project activities include :
- CET/Corp initiatives e.g. Acquisitions, Divestments, Org changes etc
- STPs (Template enhancements) e.g. FA, LAV etc
- CERP deployments
- Projects driven by other process towers impacting P2P data
- For these projects the P2P Data analyst will
- Understand the business requirement from a master data perspective
- Provide a recommendation for how the change should be made
The Master Data GPO team will not do the following. These activities must be funded and conducted by the project triggering the change :
- Make changes to master data
- Make changes to transactional data
- Provide journals to re-state transactional data
- Conduct reconciliations of transactional data changes.
We would like to speak to you if you have these experience and skills :
- Accounting Qualification
- Substantial level of understanding of both the operation of the SAP system at transactional level for CERPS, and how the solution supports the business processes
- Senior relationship management and stakeholder management
- Large scale business transformation experience
- Experience of Pharma, consumer goods / FMCG sector
- Sound understanding of process simplification and standardisation and proven experience in global process roll-out
- Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to work flexibly within a matrix team
- Knowledge of SAP and good understanding of ERP templates
- Possess solid experience of ERP processes within relevant process area and integration points with other process areas
- Sound influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Good knowledge of process design, lean sigma and other process improvement approaches
- Understanding/use of Agile Ways of Working and Scrum/Kanban Delivery
- Master Data Management and an understanding of how the SAP Templates are built.
