Key Accountabilities:
- Project Delivery: Structure module-specific problems and effectively communicate analyses e.g. through well-designed ppts, generating commercial insights and data-driven solutions, delivering project modules with high quality and timeliness (e.g. building a business case, researching commercial opportunities); develop key so-whats for modules, provide with well-founded qualitative assessment e.g. through written business communication
- Stakeholder Management: supporting client relationships, proactively managing conflicts, issues and risks, collaborate with stakeholders across businesses and functions, and engaging on relevant levels
- Business Knowledge: awareness of capital markets products, FinTech, retail banking, payments and wealth management; understanding of trends in the banking industry and their implications on Barclays business lines/functions and strategic agenda
- Team Development: exhibiting leadership on projects, fostering a collaborative spirit, contributing to team output and mentoring and developing junior members; develop and manage own curriculum to improve skill sets
Stakeholder Management and Leadership:
- Stakeholder Management: owning and driving client relationships; proactively managing expectations, conflicts, issues and risks, building relationships with stakeholders across businesses and functions, and engaging and influencing on relevant levels. Work as part of a team that advises Group ExCo Executives and the Board in making informed decisions on the most pressing business challenges and opportunities facing Barclays
- Decision Making and Problem Solving: Problem solving and creative thinking: someone who can handle ambiguity and develop well thought out hypotheses, break down complex problems into manageable components and solve in a systematic, consistent, and logical way
- Leadership: someone who can deliver project modules with minimal oversight, interface with and engage stakeholders to generate solutions and ideas for future work
- Technical expertise: fluency using our preferred analytical and communication tools: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. with outstanding written and verbal communication to be able to deliver exemplary client ready output, confidently, accurately and in a timely manner
Risk and Control Objective:
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Post Graduate, ideally with an MBA Degree from top tier institutions
- 3-6 years of relevant experience in either:
Top tier Strategy Consulting Firm
Strategy divisions of Management Consulting Firm
Relevant team (Group Strategy or Investment Banking) in a bulge bracket bank
