GPM and PM Job Description
Product management role is orchestrating the product management process through cross functional teams and external resources.
PM is an interface between the Consumer/ Market, Internal and external stake holders. Internally he has to steer teams of Project, Marketing, sales, Project managers, CSD, Finance, SCM etc. Externally he has to deal with partners, Engineering (Vendor), Analysts, thought leaders, Distributors, suppliers etc.
The product manager should have the ability to:
1. Understand the consumer's life and have an ability to explain the consumer's context with the internal stake holders of the Company.
2. Define the Roadmap and deliver products that customers will be delighted to buy.
3. Master Orchestrator of the productizing process. Finding compelling, competitive and profitable solutions to market problems that ultimately deliver delight to consumers.
Role and responsibility of Product manager:
1. AOP Gross Revenue, Gross Profit and building products as per brand direction.
2. PM align activities performed by cross functional teams with strategic objectives.
3. PM is like an orchestra conductor of key activities and thereby manages key deliverables.
4. PM guides key decisions to maximize value and create new revenue opportunities.
5. Product Management is an extremely Vital Function in client organization. He is the business person of the Company.
6. PM need to align strategy, structure, processes, peoples, style, systems and value of product from the company with the Market trends and consumer needs.
