- Manage multiple categories and subcategories of projects, including improvement, brownfield, and Greenfield initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement in equipment, visiting domestic and overseas vendors to evaluate value addition concerning equipment and processes.
- Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to the company's quality standards for every delivery. Lead the evaluation of new suppliers and manage strategic key accounts (suppliers).
- Coordinate ongoing supplier management practices with internal customers to optimize financial and operational performance.
- Ensure effective leverage in supplier selection, approval, negotiations, and performance management.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management, engaging with stakeholders to identify the most suitable supply solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and commercial conditions of contracts, and manage them throughout the contract lifecycle.
Market Intelligence:
- Develop comprehensive mappings of the value chains for all commodities and their ecosystems, including understanding trade agreements and barriers.
- Continuously deepen your understanding of commodity exposures and market fundamentals to anticipate short- and long-term market trends.
- Translate market knowledge and analytics into monthly commodity reports and price forecasts.
- Track the sustainability landscape and integrate sustainability into upstream strategy.
Sourcing Strategy:
- Develop comprehensive category sourcing strategies for direct materials sourcing.
- Collaborate with plants and projects to implement or benchmark materials used in different regions.
- Assess opportunities for sourcing arbitrage.
Risk & Spend Management:
- Actively monitor market trends and respond quickly to changes or new opportunities.
- Develop strategies to manage commodity exposure based on thorough volatility and value-at-risk analysis, and design revised risk policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Over 15-20 years of experience in manufacturing / project (preferably in the plywood / laminate/ furniture industry).
- BE or B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong reporting, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in MS Excel and MIS creation.
- Proven experience in sourcing suppliers and developing CAPEX category strategies.
- Superior negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Expertise in cost control and SAP.
- Willingness to handle a variety of techno-commercial activities.
