What we need:

1. Extensive experience in leading technical teams architect solutions on Microsoft platform. Some exposure to non-Microsoft technologies is desirable.

2. 10-13 years of experience with 5+ years in a Technical Architect capacity shipping high quality software and services

3. Proven experience in direct customer facing roles. Skilled in understanding business & technology needs and building Customer consent on proposed Solution Architecture sufficing those needs

4. Experienced in providing technical leadership to globally distributed team across development life-cycle acting both as a guide and hands-on mentor based on project and individual needs.

5. Experienced in agile development (has executed 1-2 projects in agile methodology - sprints/ scrums) using XP-related engineering practices

6. Proven track record of accelerated growth in previous organizations

7. Working experience with effort estimation and planning

8. Must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills in both independent and collaborative work environments.

9. Should be confident, self-driven with a lot of initiative, and should have the zeal and energy to quickly ramp-up on upcoming technologies.

What you will do:

- Own architecture and design for large enterprise projects. Collaborate with Customers in transforming business needs to technical specifications and lead architects in designing solutions meeting their business and technology needs.

- Provide technical leadership to the team across all phases of development – estimation & planning, design, coding, deployment and production rollout following and enhancing GrapeCity’s engineering excellence practices

- Collaborate with Project Managers to help manage trade-offs between scope, resources and time during the development lifecycle

- Provide hands on technical mentorship to engineers including diagnosis of and guidance for tough technical challenges

- Proactively keep a tab on emerging technologies, evangelize and lead adoption across teams

- Help hire, grow and retain top caliber talent

- Continually evaluate engineering process and methodology to look for ways to improve efficiency without compromising quality

- Provide pre-sales support in doing technical research for client proposals

Hiring Guidelines:

Should have

- Fast growth path (top running guy)

- Direct customer interaction experience

- Excellent in communication

- Hiring for experience not "we will train"

Should not have

- Also ran as some ones second in command (second TA on a project)

- Avg. communication

- Has worked on waterfall only

- Has not been playing a technical leader role in recent org

Technology Requirements:

- Excellent design and coding skills on Microsoft platform

- Technically solid in - ASP.Net, WCF, SQL.

- Good to have knowledge of Windows/ WPF/ Mobile/ Cloud.
