Operations is a multi-faceted division that turns ideas into business realities. We partner with all areas of the firm to delivery banking, sales, trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside our vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm's assets and its reputation.
BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW
Asset Management Operations is part of the Operations, Technology and Finance (OT&F) division of Goldman Sachs and comprises over 500 professionals based in 7 centres across the globe. We partner with two main areas of the firm to deliver asset management capabilities to clients around the world, providing essential risk management and control as well as client service and excellence in execution:
- Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is the investment management arm providing global investment opportunities to a substantial and diversified client base including institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. GSAM has become one of the pre-eminent investment management organizations globally, with responsibility for over $800bn assets under management.
- Goldman Sachs Administration Services (GSAS) provides fund administration services to a wide range of clients with a broad global base. Currently it has over $200 billion in assets under administration, for over 220 clients. Services provided include Fund Accounting, Investor Services, Middle Office, and Operations support. GSAS is dedicated to providing a superior client and investor experience in the Fund Administration arena by taking a strategic, focused approach.
TEAM OVERVIEW
- Portfolio Control & Analysis (PCA) team has primary responsibility for all aspects of portfolio control, accounting, cash management and client reporting. This is undertaken for a wide range of clients and a complex product range covering equities, fixed income, currency and derivatives. In this the team supports portfolio managers and traders, sales and marketing and client service professionals by providing accurate and timely client account information.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ensure processes and systems are continuously reviewed and improved
- Achieve results within the team that adhere to expectations around timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness
- Conduct a complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a seasoned and detailed understanding of the processes and system used in the department
- Form close interactions with senior experts and peers from various teams and regions including our sales/trading, Technology and Compliance groups for issue resolution and process improvement. This role will involve a large amount of facilitation and negotiation
- Oversee efficiency improvements within the team, support regulatory changes, as well as new client and business requirements
- Participate and lead discussions in industry working groups and actively work with the wider team and management to achieve both targets
- Establish, manage and own relationships and partnerships with business partners, external clients and regional stakeholders
- Develop a vision and implement strategic changes to re-engineer processes and reduce risk
- Provide thought leadership to the wider team both locally and regionally. Develop plans to retain and grow talent
- Lead the implementation of organization wide initiatives and projects
