Objective:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Manager to join our team at a leading FMCG company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal affairs related to the company's operations, ensuring compliance with local and international laws, and providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Legal Advisory and Consultation:
- Provide legal advice and support to the organization's management and other departments.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
2) Contract Management:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure contracts are aligned with the organization's interests and legal standards.
3) Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may affect the organization.
4) Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Oversee internal audits and investigations related to legal matters.
- Manage and maintain corporate governance standards and procedures.
5) Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and coordinate litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Work with external legal counsel and represent the organization in court or other legal proceedings if necessary.
6) Regulatory Affairs:
- Interact with regulatory bodies and authorities on behalf of the organization.
- Manage regulatory filings, licensing, and other compliance-related activities.
7) Mergers and Acquisitions:
- Oversee legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business transactions.
- Conduct due diligence and provide legal assessments of potential deals.
8) Communication and Reporting:
- Report to senior management or the board of directors on legal risks, compliance status, and other legal matters.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and suppliers, regarding legal issues.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Educational Requirement: -
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or Master's degree in law (LLM) is required.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Candidate should have at least 15 to 18 years relevant experience in Legal. Candidates having FMCG industry experience would be an added advantage.
Other Work Requirement:-
- Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
