Role
To lead and manage all legal issues of GMR with respect to project contracts, commercial contracts, business related contracts, arbitration,(across all GMR Infra projects) to maximize/obtain favourable results as well as minimize the negative effects of legal roadblocks on the business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Project Contracts (EPC Contracts), Commercial Contracts, Business Contracts - To lead the finalization of project and commercial contracts of infrastructure business which includes domestic and international contracts. Support all contract drafting and contract finalization for project execution apart from other relevant legal support to the business. Vetting, drafting and negotiating contracts including Project Contracts, Commercial contracts and Business Contracts,Joint Venture Agreements, Collaboration Agreements,Licence Agreements, MOUs, LOIs, etc. to safeguard GMR's interests in various commercial transactions and to also ensure legally secure deals for the company. Overall contract management.
- To inter act with Business team and provide legal assistance/guidance
- Liaising with external counsel as and when necessary.
- To keep updated with the latest developments in the Infra sector and the legal decisions of various courts relating to the commercial contracts.
External Interactions Internal Interactions:
- Interaction with the external layers or Advocates as and when the matters are referred to external lawyers for opinion/guidance.
- Business Heads, Finance Heads and corporate and site HoDs.

Financial Dimensions: Budgets- To follow the board approved budgets without any cost overrun
Other Dimensions: Interpersonal skills to develop a healthy rapport with all the internal stakeholders including external stake holders and business heads.
Skills & Knowledge:
Educational Qualification: LLB from a recognized and reputed Institute
Relevant & Total years of Experience: 15 to 25 years of experience in similar Function. Experience in Power Industry is desirable. Should have sound knowledge in Contracts Act, Transfer of Property Act, Companies Act, Arbitration and Recocialation Act, should possess analytical skills in identifying the risks involved in the contracts and should be able to suggest suitable redressal mechanism in order to protect the interest of the Companies.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualification: LLB/LLM with post qualification of 15-18 Yrs of exp
1. Should have hands-on experience in a Infrastructure Industry on all related Legal Matters
2. Should have demonstrated leadership and networking skills
3. Should have excellent communication skills, strong self-confidence and smart presence essential
4. Should have the knowledge of all related case laws and should keep updated with all the developments in the related subjects.
