About the organization: Torq is a dedicated trading enterprise with a vast trading network and expertise in sourcing, supplying and trading agri and energy commodities. It was established in March 2017 to participate in the origination and supply chain of agricultural commodities, energy, metals & minerals. By now it is a team of more than 100 people working across 16 overseas offices and exporting in 20 countries.

About the role: The role of GM strategy works closely with one of the founder & promoter to drive the growth plan of the organization. The role has reporting from 1 team member and additional people as per the requirement.

Location: Base location for the role is Mumbai, however the role requires travelling to Singapore, London and other offices with a potential for relocation to London after 1 year on the job learning in India.

Key Deliverables:

- Collaborate with the Director in setting and driving organizational vision, operational, strategy, and hiring needs

- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning

- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met

- Ensure effective recruiting, on boarding, professional development, performance management, and retention

- Adhere to company, local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary

- Conduct periodic reviews in absence of the Director and report the action items. Track the action items to closure within the given timeframe

- Ensure effective communication of the Director's directives, suggestions, messages to appropriate stakeholders. Ensure execution of the Directors directives through effective follow up and necessary support

- Implement processes/systems to ensure timely submission of accurate data to the Director. Build in required controls for validating the data accuracy

Role Responsibilities:

- Analyse internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement

- Plan and orchestrate work to ensure the senior executives' priorities are met, organizational goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld

- Strategize and execute tactful initiatives as well as contribute with ideas for effectively scaling up the operations across the regions

- Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with BoD

- Directly oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with the Director on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets over the near term.

- Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability

- Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting

- Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders

- Ensure corporate governance

- Brand Management; Guiding the Marketing Team

Desired Candidate:

- MBA from tier 1 Institute and experience of 8-10 years in strategy, business operations or consulting (strategy, operations)

- Experienced in working with Multinational team, Experience in Africa, Commodities would be of additional advantage

- The person should have experience of building teams, driving growth and scale, while maintaining values, standards and engagement.

- Someone who is flexible, adaptable and forward looking, and can juggle and complete projects simultaneously
