We are looking to hire a public affair specialist for a large pharmaceutical clients of ours, in Chennai.
Public Affairs
- Manage rapport and relationship with Country/State Heads of government departments, and have good handle over government programs, budgets and outside agencies.
- Expand existing and establish new key government relationships in India at the country, State or local level. Maintain effective relationship with the Government Officials, like Pharma/Drug licensing approving authorities, Revenue, Registration depts., Police, Health, Communication, Railways, transport, PWD, water works, Electricity, Taxation Depts, Secreratiate, Labour & Factories Dept, ., etc., Engaging government departments to influence public policy. Present arguments on behalf of an organisation to government, other organisations and special interest group
- Local Bodies: Maintain effective working relationships with Local Panchayat, municipal, Corporation Officials, and People Representatives.
- Support and grow presence and participation in trade associations and coalitions.
- Support and engage . management in government relations strategy.
- Monitor, analyze and regularly communicate policy and legislative changes on issues affecting .'s business and customers.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to influence government policies affecting .'s business interests.
- Prepare educational materials for use with influencing government officials and policy makers to advance . positions.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to respond to policy initiatives and develop and implement government affairs strategies to advance . India's interests.
- Effectively communicate through government relations activities the . corporate and regional positions in response to government actions/policies. Manage communication with investors or regulatory agencies to establish and maintain positive relationships. Prepare visual aids and make public presentations
Public Relations:
- Public Relations Strategy: Develop Public Relations strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to improve public perception of company
- Media: To act as main contact for news about an organization or company. To write press releases for the media about upcoming events, and cultivates relationships with members of the local and national media.
- Community / Environment Relationship: participate in community events and oversee charitable giving programs. Sponsor corporate events to enhance a firm's visibility. Promoting an organization through community programs, speaking engagements, presentations and corporate sponsorships. Acutely aware of the environment in which the organisation operates. (This is vital because publics exist within that environment and it is not possible to understand people fully unless there is a clear appreciation of the social, technological, economic, political and cultural issues and factors that influence them and drive their lives.). Also to Study Public scenario & mood. Studying social, economic and political trends and make recommendations based on their findings. Monitor public opinion regarding an organisation or particular issues.
- Image: Assist in preparing organisational documents such as variety of annual reports, corporate profiles and submissions. Develop risk assessments and have - risk mitigation plant- in order to ensure an organisation's reputation is maintained plan, develop and manage brand identity. Organise and manage events, exhibitions, conferences and product launches procure sponsorship deals.
- Legal Bodies/Forums: To maintain decent working relationship with Judiciary dept., Leading Lawyers, Legal advisors ie, both civil and criminal sides. To influence the judiciary machinery to have due opportunity for the organisation when required.
- Law & Order machinery: To maintain effective relationship with Law & Order machinery. Represent before them at all the appropriate times and influence them to get
- Political: To maintain decent relationship with Local People Representatives, Ministers, and the variety of political groups. To influence them as and when need arises.
- Consultants: To have good network with variety of consultants, those who liaise with authorities, who value add with their expertise and those who render timely advice.
- Educational: Maintain effective working relationship with all the Govt., and self aided educational institutions, Colleges and Universities. Try to have a space for . in obtaining admissions for employee wards. Enable Industry-Institution Interactions. Help Organisations have tie up with institutions for research.
- Crisis Management: communication - responding in a crisis. to handle media inquiries during a crisis. For example, a fatal at site, it must have a plan in place for handling media questions and portraying his organization in the best way possible.
- Sponsorship: Manage company sponsorships. Identify the opportunities that fetch optimum brand image and reputation/good will among public and special groups like salaried employee community, students, common public, educationists, local people representatives etc.,
- Events: organise special events for the organisation. Organise visits, exhibitions and functions.
- Networking Platforms: Has effective contacts with all the Associations, forums like Associations of related industries (pharma/drug/chemical), CII, EFSI, Association of Engineers, Association of Chartered Accountants, Consumer Forums etc., Help organisations get connected with those platforms to speed up it's business needs.
