Urgently looking for GM- Operations for one of the Resort in Maharashtra.
Position: General Manager
Location: Lonavala, India
Summary: An award winning eco-resort is seeking a General Manager to manage the operations and expansion of the resort at its 25-acre property 1,000 ft. above Lonavala. The position requires a live-in manager experienced in running luxury hotels in remote locations, and capable of achieving extraordinary guest satisfaction.
The resort will continue expanding over the next 2 years and more. Therefore, the person hired for this position will be involved in finalizing operational design, launching new units, quickly achieving stabilization, and working within an environment of continuous development.
Responsibilities: The General Manager will report directly to the owners and be responsible for all aspects of operations
- Developing and implementing SOPs to work specifically with The Resort group
- Assisting in the design of the resort’s activities and food and beverage offerings
- Hiring of staff across all of the resort’s departments, including department heads
- Training staff to perform according to our brand standards; this is an especially challenging responsibility given the local culture and resort’s location
- Overseeing and managing all departments, working closely with department heads on a daily basis
- Participate and monitor monthly inventory of supplies and equipment. Ensure purchases made are within budget and from approved vendors
- Leading the resort as its “brand standard bearer”, epitomizing the brand personality and working consistently to ensure the resort is run impeccably
- Maximizing room yield and resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs
- Works with Sales & Marketing to manage all Corporate sales activities and relationships
- Inspect and document repairs and cleanliness of property to ensure optimum upkeep and repair, room cleanliness and overall property appearance
Requirements:
- At least 12-15 years’ experience in the hotel industry, ideally including experience in remote locations
- Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results
- An interest in living and working on-site in a stunning but isolated location, during a complex and growth oriented phase of the resort’s development
