Role – GM Finance

Location – Uganda

Uganda is called as “Pearl of Africa”. Uganda, with total area of approx. 236,040 sq km, having Population (2010 est.) of 33,398,682, is in East Africa. It is bordered on the west by Congo, on the north by the Sudan, on the east by Kenya, and on the south by Tanzania and Rwanda. The country, which lies across the equator, is divided into three main areas—swampy lowlands, a fertile plateau with wooded hills, and a dry land. Lake Victoria forms part of the southern border.

Uganda is considered to be one of the most safe and secured countries of East Africa. The country has beautiful lush green terrain having temperature between 16 – 280 Celsius with rainfall throughout the year.

Uganda has excellent schooling facilities having English medium. In fact, English is Uganda’s official language and is spoken at all levels. Indian food and Indian restaurants are commonly available in Ugandan cities like Kampala and Jinja.

Responsibilities -

A chartered accountant with over 15 years of work experience in a manufacturing set up. Knowledge of multiple currency transactions, International Accounting Standards, Taxation, inventory management, working in an integrated ERP environment, independently handling of all financial transactions and records, monitoring budgets and preparing MIS is essential.

The person shall report to head of finance and accounts, and shall be responsible for overseeing all the functions of the department, including cash section, salary distribution, payments and receipts. He will ensure strict compliance with laid down systems and proactively handle all internal / external audit reports. He shall provide timely and relevant reports, variance analysis, to all functions for effective decision-making. He shall assist the Head in banking, statutory compliances, tax matters, budget finalization and long term planning.

CA is a must

Manufacturing sector experience

Multiple currency experience

Fluency in English

Relocation to Uganda with family

Track record of stability- min. 3-5 yrs in any of last 3 cos.

Age not exceeding 58.
