Job Title: DGM / GM – Marketing, Clay Business

Based at: Bangalore (For an initial 3 months in Thiruvananthapuram)

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer and Business Head – Minerals Business

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic:

- Design, implement and facilitate annual marketing strategy to meet the needs of the overall business plan of the Clay business

- Research and develop strategies and plans which identify the marketing opportunities and new product development & applications

- Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets of the Clay business and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets

- Identify, develop and grow new domestic and international markets

Operational:

- Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities and initiate action plans to approach and secure new business

- Provide leadership to the day to day operations of the Sales department, while maintaining focus on the strategic goals of the business

- Establish performance goals for the sales and marketing team and monitor their development on a continual basis

- Organize internal training programs for the sales team

- Responsible for positioning of new products in the domestic and international markets

- Monitor credit policy and constantly track and review transactions

- Meet monthly, quarterly and yearly budget for sales and collection

- Coordinate sales operations with other departments / divisions of the Company

- Plan the entire gamut of marketing activities for the business

- Create seasonal marketing campaigns, and promotions to maximize brand awareness through communicating with current and prospective buyers, establishing alliances and developing promotional opportunities

- Supervise the planning and development of marketing and communications material

- Identify, evaluate and select optimal contract manufacturing, services and assembly partners

- Promote positive relations with partners, vendors and distributors

Candidate Profile:

- B.E. (Chemical / Mechanical) and preferably a MBA with major in Marketing

- Should have handled direct & distributor sales in India in a specialty / industrial chemical or similar business

- Should have handled exports & have exposure to international markets (esp. Africa & Asia desirable)

- Background of having worked in the Manufacturing Sector, preferably in a cross – cultural environment.
