Global Commodity Manager (Raw Material)
You will be responsible for managing the overall procurement activities, development of sourcing strategy, negotiation of contracts and execution of budget for various commodities.
You will take lead on the development of new products, processes, standards, or operational plans.
This position also provides support for the organization's business strategies with a direct impact on business and function overall results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan.
- Responsible for managing and growing supplier base.
- Coordinate cross-border logistics and regulatory paperwork.
- Identify and take advantage of price trends.
- Negotiate purchasing contracts for long-term supply of commodities.
- Lead business plan/tactics to reach overall targets on a day-to-day basis.
- Developing commodity strategies and sourcing recommendations for specified commodity, considering regional specifics. This also includes early Supplier Engagement and Strategic Sourcing.
- Provide in-depth market information to management.
- Cover major sourcing areas throughout the region.
- Create key supplier relationships.
- Set up additional logistic arrangements to facilitate commodity purchase.
- Ensure cost effective purchasing and inventory management.
- Collaborate with Engineering and other internal partners to clarify prerequisites and to drive cost reduction.
- Optimize supplier footprint.
- Analyze and apply appropriate tools, i.e. cost models, benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, engineering change cost containment, technical cost reduction, part/system reuse, etc.
- Handle supplier relationships and operational issues.
- Coordinate financing and Shipping documents.
Qualification And Experience:
1. MBA in Suply Chain with 15+ Years of Experience in Chemical Commodity Raw Material
2. Solid knowledge of financial markets that influence commodity prices.
3. Strong background in commodity trading and risk management software.
4. Excellent negotiating skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
5. Advanced analytical skills.
6. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with people across departments and levels.
7. Understanding of Potential Business risks.
8. Ability to deal with ambiguity and interface/network cross teams under complexity.
9. Effective Communication skills with clear mind and ability to interact effectively with local/overseas staff, internally and externally.
10. Proactive attitude in Problem identification, Root Causing and Suggesting corrective and preventive actions, keeping future risk in mind.
11. Strong passion and enthusiasm to challenge on the tasks.
12. Presence comfortably around leadership.
