Job Summary :


- Key Core member of the ASPAC Commercial team and will serve as a trusted thought partner and strategic advisor for Commercial leadership in designing, shaping and driving a transformational Commercial strategy agenda


- Central to the delivery of sustainable and profitable growth for the organization through both the ownership and development of the Commercial strategy and through the delivery of best in class analytics, processes and systems to allow the effective execution of that strategy.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive) :


- Develop the multi-year strategic plan for the Commercial function that a meshes individual customer strategy, as well as a functional strategy for the Commercial Organisation with the product and sector strategies of the Product and Innovation Organisation


- Help to monitor day to day business performance and provide inputs to regional leadership as necessary to ensure results are in line with budgets and forecasts


- Carry out performance analytics for the Commercial function that leverage appropriate balance of perspective across financial & non-financial metrics, historic & forward-looking metrics to provide critical insights on all aspects of the performance of the commercial organisation as well as on its customers and markets.


- Pricing management


- Help manage CRM system for customer and pipeline tracking, pricing management, sample requests, etc - be the key user and point of contact for trouble shooting


- Implement a rigorous approach to pipeline management, tailored appropriately to individual product lines, as well as customer segments and sales channels


- Lead the systemisation, automation, process enhancement and continuous improvement agenda of the Commercial function.


- Competitor analysis


- Help manage budget process to ensure timely delivery from sales team to finance


- Be the strategic interface between Commercial and PSM across a wide range of activities including go-to-market strategy development, prioritization of product launches and specific growth opportunities.


- Lead in the development and execution of commercial growth opportunities whether self-generated or generated elsewhere within the Commercial Organisation.


- Take lead in monthly commercial meetings and key commercial events (eg Kick off meetings, budget meetings, etc)


Additional Functions :


- Handle GN internal trading business (eg. With GNIR, GNUS, GNDE, etc)


- SOLAS Project Support


- Manage new account on boarding prior to hand over to sales managers (specific cases)


- Help to coordinate between regional commercial and technical/ manufacturing/ R&D colleagues


- Assist in providing overviews of regulatory and lobbying environment with view to assisting regional leadership gain access to key opinion leaders and influencers at authority or government levels


Supervisory Responsibilities (If relevant) :


- No line reports at this stage but working closely in a supervisory capacity with PA to VP for certain data search or basic analysis


Qualification & Experience Requirements :


Education, Training: MBA or Degree in business or commerce; knowledge of Asia Pacific business environment


Experience Required: Background in business analysis and strategy

- Ability to translate data and information into clear messages and actionable insights


- Strong understanding of and commitment to the customer


- Good communicator with all levels


Language, Computer & Numeracy:


- High level of competence with excel and powerpoint


- Ability to communicate in English and basic communication skills in one Asian language, ideally Chinese


Travel Requirements: 30-40% travel


Typical Physical Activity: Not required to a high degree


Typical Environmental Conditions : Generally office based, but travel to AsPac and other countries periodically
