GIAC Manager - Portfolio Compliance
- The GIAC Manager position is a managerial role (6 + years of experience) that requires excellent communication skills & strong attention to detail. The GIAC Manager will be leading a team of Compliance Analyst & its supervisor who will be responsible for extracting information & reports specific to our global funds and accounts from a variety of proprietary and third-party programs.
- He will be actively involved in team building, motivating, effective business processes, standards of performance and business development. He will also be responsible for managing daily activities and interaction of the India team with the US/Europe/Asia team. Prioritize assignments and projects The GIAC Manager will also oversee routine audits completed by the Executives and cross checked by Supervisor to ensure the integrity of electronic archives, analyst assignments, as well as various forms of information retention.
- Additionally, the position will involve oversight of different forms of data maintenance specific to account status tracking, correspondence filing as well as involvement in the administration of the department’s virtual information repository. The position requires the results of these tasks to be extensively communicated to various global sites.
- Additionally, the GIAC Manager may be expected to potentially perform detailed compliance analysis upon successful mastery of the tasks listed above. This may include research in a variety of systems of compliance alerts & warnings, analysis and/or maintenance of rules in an automated compliance system and manual calculations required to ensure compliance of mandates.
- The position will also potentially involve reviews of legal documents and mandates from clients as a part of ongoing account compliance maintenance in support of global accounts. The position may also require the development of compliance expertise in the direct reports.
Additionally, the GIAC Manager may be required to work on special projects and assignments as needs dictate
Overseeing the work of the local team and acting as a quality controller ensuring accuracy and integrity of all work
- Audits of various sources of information retention
- Data maintenance & administration of the department’s virtual repository
- Ensure quality control and accuracy of final output
- Coordinate resource allocation to meet project deadlines of team
- Coach direct reports on processes and procedures, training and resource allocation. Mentor ongoing development of staff including objective setting, performance reviews and other evaluations
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with all stakeholders and supporting business structures
- Communication with global sites and special projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor or Masters in Business with good academics (60-80%)
- Overall working experience of 6 -8 years in Mutual Fund/Capital Market/Financial services Industry
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- SOX compliance certification, NSE certification – desirable but not mandatory
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- CA/CS/MBA/CFA
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Charles River Application & Portfolio Compliance will be highly preferred
- Experience in dealing with Derivatives and International securities preferred.
- Solid knowledge in Excel (writing macro & coding will be preferred)
- Min 3 + years of experience of working in Mutual Fund environment
- Experience with Excel and data software programs
