We are inviting applications for the role of Management Trainee, Actuarial
(i) Responsibilities :
1. Process Management :
a. Provide technical and managerial leadership to the offshore life experience studies team in performing all monthly/quarterly/semi-annually/annually studies/processes.
b. Perform and manage Adhoc projects/analysis as directed by the Genpact team or Genworth Experience Studies Leader [or assigned delegate]
c. Ensure adherence to Actuarial standards of practice
d. Ensure all process and project related deliverables including defined controls and supporting evidence meet agreed upon requirements
e. Ensure agreed upon governance practices are in place and adhered too daily/weekly/monthly status reporting of team activities against the program plan or schedule
f. Coordinate with offshore lead for workload planning
g. Own and maintain life experience studies task lists, project lists and any adhoc task list utilizing team resources calibrate with Genpact team and Genworth process owner as needed for updates and changes
h. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all life experience studies activities/processes completed/managed by the offshore team including understanding of the full end-to end process and all intermediate tasks
i. Timely escalation of issues requiring attention to Genpact leadership/Genworth process owners; create necessary action plans
2. Documentation :
a. Create, maintain and store documentation sufficient to facilitate minimal errors/rework and maximize overall efficiency/productivity for experience studies tasks on specified share drive structure; to include :
i. Procedural documentation
ii. Checklists
iii. Reminders
iv. FAQs
b. Documentation should provide step by step guidance for the doer, the reviewer and results delivery:
i. Template consistency across documents
ii. Contents - background, systems/files references, inputs-process-output, high level process flow, procedure notes, etc.
iii. Version control & change management
iv. Storage & archiving past versions
c. Seek necessary sign-off from Genpact onshore team and Genworth SMEs/ process owners
3. Other Responsibilities :
a. Work with Genpact leadership to obtain necessary staff to support the team's requirements
b. Support business initiatives and projects as per Genworth's preference and priority
c. Lead by example - drive consistency in expected behaviors
d. Pro-actively seek ways to improve the efficiency and calibrate with Genpact team and Genworth process owners for their direction and prioritization to execute any process improvements
e. Establish working relationships within the Genworth environment across other actuarial functions, finance, IT and project management teams
(ii) Required Qualifications :
1. BS/BA Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics and/or related major; or, partially qualified (Preferably 3+ Actuarial exams cleared) with experience in life insurance or financial services industry
2. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
3. Good Knowledge of statistical tools or programming language: SAS, Python
4. Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
5. Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
(iii) Preferred Qualifications :
1. Strong actuarial work experience and understanding of life products.
2. Specific knowledge of tools - SAS, Python, R-Studio, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA
3. Knowledge of general projection mechanics and processes
4. Knowledge of projections and GAAP, STAT, and Tax reporting concepts
5. Relevant people management experience
