Our client is one of the leading manufacturing companies that has achieved multiple international standards in its quality and production. It also is a leading exporter of its quality products.

As the GM, you will develop and monitor the sales strategies for the company. You will report to the CSO and guide your team to expand the organization's market share.

What you will do:

- Developing the sales strategy for product category across Pan India, with focus on North, East and West zones and Export to ensure achievement of sales volumes and revenue targets

- Developing periodic (annual, quarterly and monthly) targets and sales plans for the business basis overall product category targets and capacity, past sales performance and market potential

- Evaluating and selecting appropriate sales model and distribution channels to further sales growth across the focused zones

- Evaluating proposals for new depots with a view of expanding sales growth and maintaining excellent customer service

- Reviewing branding and marketing programs basis business targets and regional performance, and ensuring alignment to the overall marketing strategy of company.

- Developing and managing the sales budget and ensuring internal operating costs are within the allocated budget

- Monitoring effectiveness and performance of sales initiatives and ensuring all sales activities are aligned with the category goals/ objectives

- Ensuring top line and volume targets and gross margin contribution of sales across all regions, identifying areas of concern and driving corrective action

- Reviewing credit status across the zones, approving credit limits, ensuring realization of payments within established timelines

- Driving market intelligence to identify market trends, customer preferences, competitive action, new product introductions, etc. to build and implement sales campaigns

- Analysing and evaluating the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results and provide feedback to the team

- Maintaining key customer relationships and developing strategies to expand organization's market share

- Ensuring a strong focus on customer satisfaction and end service delivery is maintained throughout the sales team

- Engaging with key customers (existing and potential) for the product category, understanding their needs and building relationships with a view of future sales growth and long-term loyalty

- Periodically reviewing customer engagement and interaction processes and identifying areas of improvement to achieve higher levels of customer service

- Coordinating with external dealers to obtain detailed information on market and consumer trends and feedback on customer satisfaction

- Liaising with external agencies and managing external relations; ensuring internal alignment and buy- in across key internal stakeholders

- Monitoring and tracking external environment; liaising with various external agencies to keep abreast of market developments

- Engaging with industry associations and competitors to influence pricing and policy decisions

- Maintaining strong relationships with key vendors, distributors and wholesalers to ensure sustainable and repeat business

- Communicating and aligning with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure on-ground implementation of the sales strategy

- Guiding and developing team through employee development initiatives to maintain a capable and motivated workforce

- Overseeing the performance of the sales force through RSMs, and ensuring delivery of high-quality services on the ground

- Leading talent acquisition activities to build a capable and effective sales force

- Creating plans to develop key talent capable of meeting the long-term goals of the business

- Assessing performance of direct reports and providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to direct reports

Candidate Profile:

What you need to have:

- Minimum 20 years of experience working in a large scale manufacturing company.

- Must have handled Large volumes of sales

- Must have experience working with big brands

- Excellent understanding of sales strategies for North East and West Indian zones as well as Exports

- Team Handling and reporting experience

- Excellent communication and marketing skills

- Willing to travel extensively across India

Experience: 20 to 25 years
