Job Title: General Manager - Sales & Marketing

Department: Sales & Marketing

Location: Sriperumbudur, Chennai, India

Reports to: Board of Directors (BOD)

Direct Reports: Sales Team (Domestic & International), Marketing Team

Job Summary:

The General Manager - Sales & Marketing is a critical leadership role responsible for developing and executing the company's global sales and marketing strategies.

This role requires a highly experienced and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically with static equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of international markets, and the ability to drive revenue growth while building and managing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategic Planning:

- Develop and implement the annual Sales & Marketing Business Plan, aligning with the company's overall strategic objectives.

- Lead and mentor a team of 10+ members across domestic and international sales and marketing functions.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of sales and marketing strategies.

- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.

- Present the annual sales and marketing strategy to the BOD for review and approval.

Sales Management:

- Oversee all sales operations, including lead generation, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closing.

- Establish and manage sales targets and budgets.

- Develop and implement effective sales strategies for both domestic and export markets.

- Monitor sales performance and take corrective action as needed.

- Ensure compliance with export and import regulations, commercial terms, and contract terms.

- Manage key customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.

- Oversee the preparation of competitive and profitable sales proposals.

- Attend techno-commercial meetings with clients and follow up on opportunities to secure orders.

Marketing Management:

- Develop and execute marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.

- Manage all marketing activities, including digital marketing, events, public relations, and content creation.

- Conduct market research to identify target audiences and develop effective marketing campaigns.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to explore and propose new products or solutions.

- Manage marketing efforts in both domestic and export markets, focusing on global expansion.

- Represent the company at technical conferences and industry forums.

Reporting & Communication:

- Regularly report to the BOD on sales and marketing performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

- Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and market insights.

- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

- Review estimations prepared by the marketing/estimation engineers and present them for management approval.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: MBA or other business management qualification is highly desirable.

Experience:

- Minimum of 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, with significant exposure to the export market.

- Proven experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specializing in static equipment (Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Columns, Reactors).

- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of at least 10 members.

Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of commercial terms, export and import regulations, and international trade practices.

- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

- Pleasing personality and professional demeanor
