About the Role:

The General Manager - Sales and Marketing will be a strategic leader responsible for driving the company's growth through effective sales and marketing initiatives, both domestically and internationally. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the static equipment industry for Oil & Gas, possessing strong leadership, business development, and technical sales skills. The GM will lead a team of 10+ professionals, develop and implement strategic plans, and ensure the company's market presence and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategic Planning:

Annual Business Plan Development:

- Develop and present a comprehensive annual sales and marketing business plan, incorporating market analysis, competitive landscape, and growth projections, to the BOD for approval.

- Align the plan with the company's overall strategic objectives and financial goals.

Team Leadership and Management:

- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 10+ professionals across domestic and international sales and marketing functions.

- Establish clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

- Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of projects and exceptional customer service.

- Facilitate effective communication and alignment between departments to achieve organizational goals.

Strategic Market Analysis:

- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats.

- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and customer needs.

2. Marketing and Business Development:

New Client Acquisition:

- Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients through networking, technical presentations, and industry events.

- Develop and execute targeted business development strategies to expand the company's client base.

Product Development and Innovation:

- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and propose new product or service offerings that meet market demands.

- Contribute to the development of product roadmaps and innovation strategies.

International Market Expansion:

- Develop and implement strategies to expand the company's presence in international markets, focusing on key target regions.

- Manage international marketing and sales activities, including participation in trade shows and conferences.

- Understand and navigate the complexities of international business.

Technical Sales and Presentations:

- Represent the company at technical conferences and forums, delivering compelling presentations and building industry relationships.

- Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team and clients.

3. Sales Operations:

Export and Import Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant export and import regulations, including documentation, licensing, and customs procedures.

- Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Sales Strategy and Proposal Development:

- Oversee the development of competitive and profitable sales strategies and proposals.

- Ensure proposals align with client requirements and company objectives.

Estimation Review and Client Interaction:

- Review estimations prepared by marketing/estimation engineers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements.

- Attend techno-commercial meetings with clients, addressing their concerns and negotiating agreements.

- Proactively follow up with clients to secure orders and opportunities.

Sales Forecasting and Pipeline Management:

- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.

- Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement.

4. Reporting and Communication:

Board Reporting:

- Prepare and present regular reports to the BOD on sales and marketing performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

- Present the annual sales and marketing strategy to the BOD for approval.

Stakeholder Communication:

- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry partners.

- Provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

- MBA in Marketing or Business Administration is highly desirable.

Experience:

- Minimum of 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a focus on static equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, columns, reactors) for the Oil & Gas industry.

- Proven track record of success in international market development and export sales.

- Significant experience in leading and managing teams of 10+ professionals.

- Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of commercial terms, export and import regulations, and industry standards.

- Strong understanding of technical sales and engineering principles.

- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales and marketing tools. -

- Strong presentation skills.

- Pleasing personality and ability to build strong relationships.
