General Manager - Production - CRAMS/API

Job Purpose: Responsible for the management and coordination of plant operations including machining, assembly, receiving, stores and maintenance consistent to improve the facility's performance.

Facilitator:

- Maintain personal productivity and quality standards that make possible attractive financial returns so that the company may continue to provide the excellent service to our customers and ensure job security and career growth for the staff.

- Regularly coaching and interacting with the employees and keeping them updated with the new technologies that have come.

- Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required by Company Policy.

Mover:

- Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.

- Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.

- Initiate disciplinary measures according to company policy when needed and dismiss production employees when all corrective attempts have failed.

- Initiative plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

- Meet all customer commitments through the production of timely, efficient and high quality products and service.

- Responsible for formulating policies, programs, and objectives affecting the schedule, quality, and cost of manufactured products. Directing and coordinating production according to quality and quantity specifications within cost objectives

Networking

- Shall be involved with customer interactions whenever applicable to understand the work/product related activities, technology transfer activities wherever applicable.

- Communicate effectively and networking with different departments and informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that production, marketing, QA/QC, Technical Services and customer objectives are met.

Leadership:

- The candidate must be a leader and shall be experienced to set up, run the plant by his own and shall be able to solve issues without much of help from others

- To train and guide people to enhance skill-set in CRAMS production activities

- Supervise the team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.

- Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.

- Assure that collective bargaining agreements are effectively administered and that employee grievances are addressed in a timely fashion.

Strategist:

- Responsible and accountable for all projects timely delivery with required quality, quantity and specifications - Should have to get involved at an early stage when R&D has finalized process, involve EHS, manufacturing, project coordinator whenever required for timely delivery of scale up projects.

- To carry out all feasibility studies and costing for all higher scale requirements of products for customers and BD

- Shall be responsible for proper planning and occupancy of the resources and other tolling activities when and if required.

- Shall be responsible for accurate budgeting and monitoring of all scale up activities

Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports organization's strategic initiatives.

- Manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume.

- Developing manufacturing and operational strategic plans and generally overseeing their implementation to ensure maximum capacity utilisation of the manufacturing units towards achieving the group's strategy, growth and profit objectives.

Technical Generalist:

- To be a active team member to all product selection process, trouble shooting continuous development activities within the organization.

- Maintain a positive department attitude and ensure that all employees under the supervision are aligned with the company goals.

- Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.

Knowledge & Ability:

- High energy level required.

- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

Education:

Graduate in Chemical Engineering; Degree in management would be preferred.

Experience:

Should have been in similar role at least for 10-15 years in a Pharmaceutical/CRAMs company, knowledge of cGMP, SAP, costing and working with Chemists/R&D/Manufacturing team members shall be preferred, good communicator, should be a - people person- and with man management skill sets
