General Manager - Process Engineering - Chemical

Job Brief : We are looking for an experienced Chemical Engineer to lead and be responsible for the process design for new and existing processes. The successful candidate should be able to identify appropriate technologies, improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.

Position Profile of the Candidate :

Educational qualification: B.E. or M.E.(Chemical) with about 20 years of experience in process engineering of batch plants for technical agro-chemicals / pharmaceuticals / specialty chemicals / intermediates. Knowledge of MS Office and Autocad softwares. Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations.

Position Responsibility and Accountability :

- Lead the Process Engineering team

- Process design/development for new processes including waste treatment with a focus on sustainability.

- Work closely with R&D at both lab and pilot plant stage for both new and existing processes

- Troubleshoot and improve existing processes.

- Ensure engineering standards are adhered to in design and execution.

- Ensure preparation of Basic and Detailed Engineering packages including PFD, Material and Energy Balances, Utility Loads, P&I D- s, Interlocks, Equipment, Piping and Tray Layouts, specify MOC- s, Vent and Pressure Relief sizes, Piping Isometrics, etc.

- Provide operating instructions to Production team for new processes and improvements

- Coordinate with detailed engineering consultants

- Prepare and ensure schedules and budgets are met

- Participate in project cost estimate and feasibility studies

- Coordinate with project execution team and provide guidance as required

- Ensure proper documentation of the project and process

- Lead process transfer either at company sites or at third party sites

- Identify and implement new technologies

- Train production personnel on processes - new and improvements

- Help prepare statutory documents as required

- Participate in HAZOP / Risk Analysis / JSA / PSSR / etc.

- Participate in vendor discussions

- Ensure proper process safety studies are carried out and data incorporated in designs

- Address HSE issues as required

- Commissioning of new processes and improvements

- Recruit and train personnel for the department

- Performance management and employee life-cycle of reportees

- Perform other duties as required
