Role: General Manager - Liasoning - Coal Mining
Job description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Liaisoning:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the company in meetings with government officials to discuss mining policies, regulations, and project updates.
2. Permitting and Approvals:
- Coordinate and facilitate the process of obtaining necessary permits, clearances, and approvals for coal mining projects.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and work towards obtaining environmental clearances.
3. Community Engagement:
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies to address concerns and foster positive relationships with local communities.
- Collaborate with community leaders, NGOs, and other organizations to support sustainable development initiatives in the vicinity of mining operations.
4. Legal Compliance:
- Stay updated on all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to coal mining and ensure the company's compliance.
- Work closely with legal teams to resolve any legal issues and mitigate potential risks.
5. Internal Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, environmental, safety, and legal departments, to ensure a cohesive approach to mining operations.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the senior management regarding liaisoning activities and progress.
6. Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and challenges related to liaisoning and work proactively to address and mitigate them.
- Develop contingency plans to handle unforeseen issues that may arise during the mining operations.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all liaisoning activities, permits, and approvals.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in liaisoning roles within the coal mining industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mining laws, regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant software for documentation and reporting.
