General Manager - Finance Controller


Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning:

- Keep abreast of market developments and changes in regulatory landscape; Provide inputs to new JV, Merger, Acquisition opportunities

- Provide inputs to the business planning and budgeting process and provide support in development of operational plans across divisions; Review progress against the plan on a periodic basis and suggest mid-course correction if required

- Validate analysis of past financial performance and emerging market trends to provide inputs to the team for budget preparation

- Draft consolidated budget based on inputs received from various functions; Participate in meetings with functional heads to discuss and finalize the budget

Accounting:

- Monitor and ensure adherence to standardized accounting and financial processes of Panasonic India

- Provide guidelines, review and finalize changes in accounting policies to adopt new statutory norms and changes in financial and legislative changes from a local standpoint

- Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting statements; Ensure timely completion and accuracy of financial reporting statements e.g., Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss (P&L), Cash flow statements

- Act as the point of escalation for any queries related to accounting and financial processes and financial reporting statements for respective divisions

- Business Performance Review & Financial Controls

- Review financial and operating performance for respective division regularly by collating data from sales performance reviews, monthly factory performance reviews, competitor performance, cost movements, CAPEX & operational spends, and inventory movements

- Interpret the data collated and lead business performance review meetings

- Monitor and ensure adherence to finance and business control policies

- Monitor accounts receivables for PMIN & PEXIN, accounts payable for Factory, cash flows, non-variable overheads so that gross to net spending targets are met

- Review and approve marketing spends on promotions and campaigns by checking the Return on Investment of previous spends

Policies, Processes & Procedures:

- Implement approved policies, processes, procedures and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

- Analyze current and anticipated gaps in financial management process by taking into cognizance changes and new financial and legislative policies, tax laws etc.

- Identify areas for automation and process improvement; Lead teams towards implementation by setting up a plan and conducting periodic reviews

- Implement the change management process and ensure company readiness to accept and adopt the changes to way of doing business which arise due to new policies / procedures

- Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures

People Development:

- Instill a culture of continuous development and performance within own team

- Proactively participate in recruiting, development & engagement of own team

- Set and communicate clear performance expectations, coach, and provide support and regular feedback to own team

- Evaluate training and development requirements for own team and make recommendations for learning interventions

Key KPIs:

- Financial Performance (Revenue, OP & ROI)

- Timeliness & Accuracy of reporting

- Working Capital Management (Days Sales Outstanding, Days Payable Outstanding) of activities automated through Digital transformation solutions

- Overall audit & compliance reporting
