General Manager - Business Development/O&M - Water Projects

The incumbent will play a critical role in expanding operations and maintenance services for all types of water projects. This individual will be responsible for sourcing new business opportunities, particularly within the government sector, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders such as municipal commissioners, government water authorities, and state and central government officials.

The incumbent is expected to acquire additional projects that come up for fresh bidding after the expiry of the contractual phase.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the sewage water treatment industry.

- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets.

- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, pricing, and competitive landscape.

- Database Management & updating

Sales and Marketing:

- Lead the business-to-government (B2G) sales and relationship-building efforts, targeting municipal commissioners, government water authorities, and other relevant government bodies.

- Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to secure new contracts and projects.

- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional materials.

- Keep track of upcoming tenders and Participate in Tenders by taking inputs from dedicated teams.

Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal commissioners, government officials, and other key stakeholders.

- Act as the primary point of contact for government clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Attend industry conferences, meetings, and events to network and promote the company's services.

Strategic Partnerships:

- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with other companies and potential vendors/ suppliers and organizations to enhance service offerings and expand the market reach.

- Negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, and partnerships to maximize value for the company.

Sector Knowledge and Compliance:

- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements in sewage water treatment.

- Ensure all business development activities comply with industry standards and government regulations.

- Provide sector-specific insights and knowledge to internal teams to support business growth.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.

- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the sewage water treatment or environmental services sector, with a focus on B2G sales.

- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sewage water treatment processes, technologies, and government bidding tendering process
