We have an opportunity for a General Counsel- Legal for one of our client.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to work closely with the business and bid teams and to advise on management consultancy, technology and outsourcing contracts. The role will also involve providing ad hoc legal advice relating to the general operations of all Group companies in India, conducting due diligence activities, participating in client negotiations. The successful candidate shall also take part in networking opportunities with peers, across the market, with clients and projects, and within the legal community in India.
The successful candidate must have had experience in IT Organization and will work on all phases of deals, ranging from the proposal/bid review stages, right through to final negotiation and post signature issues. The following are the usual types of contracts that Legal is requested to support:
- Outsourcing (including Application Management)
- System Integration and Development
- Consulting
- Framework Agreements
- Alliance agreements
- Subcontracts / Intercompany agreements
- Procurement
- Real Estate
- HR Contracts
Of equal importance, the role will require an investment in process management to identify and implement opportunities to improve the quality of legal advice and the impact of legal services offered in India and in the wider Group legal function.
Additional Responsibilities
- Additional roles will include providing legal sign-off on deals, development and presentation of legal training courses, policy drafting, customization for India of the policies set by the Group Legal, maintaining legal databases and handling disputes & dispute resolution.
- The applicant will have to manage and develop a team of 6-7 lawyers.
- The job will involve travelling in India on a regular basis, and some travels to Europe to the headquarters (Paris).
