GEM Group - Associate/Manager - Strategy/Investment Banking

GEM Group (RioZim Ltd) is looking for a meticulous and analytical Financial Analyst to join its Strategy team. The role includes business performance review, analysis of the firm's business and operating model, market entry strategy and industry & competitor analysis. The strategy associate/manager works directly with senior management across the businesses and regions to determine the optimal strategy for reaching the firm's key business aspirations in the rapidly changing market environment.

Desired Candidate Profile:

(a) Well versed with mining industry key dynamics or have worked in the strategy team in mining sector

(b) Excellent problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

(c) Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

(d) Analytical skills, high level of proficiency in excel, PowerPoint and presentation. Very strong communication skills (written & oral)

(e) Ability to multi-task efficiently and meet project deadlines.

(f) Knowledge of capital markets

(g) Managerial experience of handling a team with analytical skillsets

Roles & responsibilities:

(a) Manage corporate structuring initiatives, including entity formation, capital structure optimization, and tax planning strategies

(b) Work closely with stakeholders to align financial goals with the company's strategic objectives.

(c) Analyse, and interpret financial data to support decision-making processes

(d) Prepare detailed reports and presentations for investors and other stakeholders.

(e) Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings and meeting with regulatory authorities/ministries

(f) Strategic assessment of underperforming businesses and development of scenarios / recommendations for business heads.

(g) Conduct analysis of the competitive and general macro / market environment for senior management presentations.

(h) Prepare quarterly presentation of key Business unit's earnings covering financial performance analysis, changes in business environment and key themes impacting the earnings.

(i) Active contributor in negotiations and dealings with ministry of mines and other regulatory authorities
