Sourcing Program Leader ( 3 Positions)
Role Summary/Purpose
The Sourcing Program Leader is responsible for growing the sourcing function in the region by building strong alignment with the Global Commodity team & the GE India Sourcing team
Responsibilities include:
Identifying, & growing suppliers to meet business plans
Working with cross-functional teams to drive execution of projects
Working with diverse global teams to ensure delivery of products
Resolving commercial situations
Building strong trust-based relationships with suppliers & team
Essential Responsibilities:
The Sourcing Program Leader demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for a business segment or commodity. In this role you will use your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.
- Will drive and be accountable for operational excellence of assigned programs/projects
- Own the RFQ to delivery process for all assigned suppliers/areas
- Conduct qualification & competitive analysis of vendor products / services
- Develop sourcing strategy/plan on quality, price, delivery, and service necessary to meet requirements
- Deliver on business outcomes as per business plans
- Manage budgets and contracts associated with programs and/or initiatives
- Drive proactive involvement in all functional activities related to sourcing to ensure that sourcing has upfront involvement in all new programs and delivers strong value to the business
- Understand and drive GE expectations including Six Sigma quality internally and with suppliers
- Develop, plan, and manage programs to meet GE purchasing commitments in Sourcing
- Collaborate with manager in setting realistic and challenging operational goals, and contribute to their accomplishment
- Periodically prepare and implement supporting work plans
- Provide support to Marketing and Sales functions in their proposal efforts
Qualifications/Requirements
- At least 5 years of full-time work experience
- Conversant with the supplier base in the region for one or more commodity group - Which includes Machined parts, Medium and heavy fabrications, engineered systems and C parts
- Experience/ability to work on sourcing activities across multiple commodities / product categories
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, etc
- Strong project/program management skills
- Ability to build trust-based relationships with suppliers & team
Desired Characteristics
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse international/multi-location groups
- At least 3 years of experience in a Sourcing/Purchasing position in an industrial goods environment
