Essential Responsibilities :
In particular, the Senior Contract Management Leader will be in charge of the identification and pursuing of change orders, outgoing claims against clients and subcontractors, and of defying the most appropriate defense against incoming claims liaising, when necessary, with Planning, Legal and Finance departments. She/he increases the contract awareness of all key project team members, providing training on contractual issues and timely clarifications to contractual / legal queries.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Management of Claims, including insurance claims and Change/Variation Orders in strict cooperation with Project Directors/Managers;
- Ensure that Commercial and Contractual risks and opportunities are identified, analysed, documented, appropriately managed and reported on a regular basis;
- Preserve GEs rights and entitlements as provided in the contracts;
- Respect the GE rules and processes;
- Analyze and explain the variances compared to Budget and Forecast and challenge cost variations;
- Assure customer invoicing is done as soon as possible and play an active role in achieve payment from customer in due time;
- Actively support in setting up project bonds and monitor their validity throughout the project;
- Actively support Procurement Department in vendor recovery.
Role Summary/Purpose :
The Leader has the responsibility of the contract management of the projects under India regions P&L for GE Renewables Energy Hydro Business, in support of the Project Director and reporting to the Global Contract Management Leader based in France Headquarter.
Qualifications/Requirements :
- Degree qualified, preferably with an engineering or legal background;
- 10 Plus years experience in contract management preferably in an international matrix organization.
Desired Characteristics :
- Ideally multilingual and able to negotiate and draft contracts in English;
- High energy, self-starter, ability to work independently, analytical, quick learner, organized, flexible to change and driven on results;
- Strong negotiation skills/experience with excellent business judgement;
- Skillful in handling internal and external customers; customer focused attitude;
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment; accountability with respect to deadlines;
- Experienced in team management.
