Essential Responsibilities :
- The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Paint-shop Will be responsible for Paint process design, selection and procurement of equipment, installation / commissioning of the paint shop for full Locomotive and its sub-assemblies within budget and timelines.
- This position will be directly reporting into the Plant Manager and dotted line to Technology Transfer Manager.
- Responsibility will include working closely with Global / Local Technology Transfer teams of GE Transportation. This job requires working very closely with various cross functional team in a boundary less environment.
- This Position also requires building & leading a strong team at multiple sites and drive larger organization initiative including Environment Health & Safety, quality, cost optimization & productivity initiatives.
This job will require :
- Project management & communication of status, business issues, and significant developments to larger team/Leadership.
- Lead special projects as directed by work requests from Engineering or Project Management, which may cover technical advances in execution / capability studies
- Effectively integrate new concepts that can aid in the assignment of both equipment hardware and software as related to computer build technology, advanced process capability and material handling concepts
- Working very closely with Manufacturing & Quality teams on shop floor during prove out & regular production phase.
- Lead the first product manufactured and hand over the process to Production after stabilization.
- Define Takt time, no of workstations and cells.
- Define resources requirement for specified tast time equipment and machinery list, manpower calculation with skill and semiskilled bifurcation and no of jigs and fixtures etc.
- To implement engineering changes and Spec up-dation and focus on Regulatory requirements on EHS
- To lead the process improvement during serial production.
- To provide training to production team at the start of the project.
- To support the production department for continuous improvements.
- Should have strong technical knowledge on Paint process and technology.
Qualifications/Requirements :
- Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college,At least 10+ years of engineering experience in Paint shop / surface finishing industry or related area with an experience of setting-up of Green/Brown field Paint shop.
- Should have good understanding of Local Pint Shop & Paint Manufacturers.
- Prior experience of Technology Transfer would be an added advantage.
- Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English, with experience of working in global environment. Local Language Fluency will be an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse team members.
- Must be self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible
