About this role :


- We are looking for a Writer with an eye for detail and expert knowledge of the English language to contextualize content assets to specific roles and curate user/peer perspectives, as well as manage all steps in the publication process.


- A successful candidate understands what kind of writing is appropriate for business executives and strives to provide exceptional, informative and engaging content to clients.


- Writers perform a variety of duties - write new documents from the curation of user/peer perspectives (specifically from Gartner Peer Connect and Gartner Peer Insights), take existing content written for one role and create new versions targeted at different roles, revise content for clarity, format documents, and fact check and research.


- Writers are expected to collaborate with multiple parties to craft written research and must ensure time-sensitive deliverables meet deadlines.


What you- ll do :


- Contextualize a variety of content types for different kinds of client consumption, tailoring the writing style to the relevant audience.


- Curate peer and user feedback to create summarized perspectives according to well-defined processes and standards.


- Tasks include gathering materials; analyzing sourced content; organizing and structuring outline; writing content; formatting content; orchestrating peer and management reviews (as needed), and responding to comments; checking facts and accuracy; coordinating with editors and other parties to ensure the integrity of the content.


- Take existing content that is role-agnostic or written for one role and contextualize it for different roles according to well-defined processes and standards. Tasks include gathering materials; rewriting existing work; drafting edits; interviewing analysts and researchers; orchestrating peer, vendor and management reviews (as needed), and responding to comments; checking facts and accuracy; coordinating with editors and other parties to ensure the integrity of content.


- Write content targeted to one primary role and to its associated critical issues/needs. Help clients discover new opportunities or options to address their challenges by summarizing relevant experience from peers.


- Work with different stakeholders to plan priorities for work, timelines and research collections.


- Suggest improvements in process and procedures to optimize the work.


- Ensure content complies with Gartner's editorial style and quality standards.


- Revise and review drafts, especially in response to feedback.


- Submit material for publication in the required and expected format.


- Write with the reader or audience in mind.


- Work cross-functionally with all other teams/departments, including Research and Graphics, to improve the overall workflow process, procedures and systems.


- Undertake continuous, job-related training to maintain writing quality levels and improve individual skills.


- Maintain an awareness of new terms or phrases coming into popular usage in your subject area(s).


Job Requirement :


- Education, Professional Experience, Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies


- Bachelor's degree level or equivalent.


- 3-6 years' experience as a professional writer or in a comparable field


- Excellent written English that can be adapted to a specific audience, subject and delivery medium.


- Ability to pick out the key points from raw material and organize it into a focused, logical research document.


- Ability to express complex and technical ideas in simple, accessible English.


- Knowledge of grammar and styles - including AP style.


- Analytical, journalism and research skills.


- Basic understanding of research domain, including markets, trends and business drivers - across IT and business domains.


- Able to manage several assignments at once and meet deadlines under pressure.


- Well versed in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and in Google Suite


- Exceptional attention to detail and capable of delivering error-free content


- Strong communicator (verbal and written)


- Able to perform gracefully under pressure and provide guidance on inflexible and shifting deadlines


- Superior customer service ethic and interpersonal skills


- Organized and multitasker
