Position: Manager - Procurement
About the Client:
Our Client is a global developer and operator of renewable energy assets i.e.:
- Ground-mounted solar
- On-shore wind
- Rooftop and behind-the-meter solar
- Battery energy storage systems
- Energy as a service and decentralised power solutions the client invests, develops, operates and manages renewable energy assets and provides sophisticated financing, supply and risk-management strategies for power users.
POSITION: The position is a key role within Procurement and Supply Chain Management and acts as connector of all Stakeholders by providing link between Purchase, Logistics, Business Development, and Project Development teams to ensure that the company operational needs are met and agreed strategic directions for Supply Chain and Procurement function is implemented. The position will be based in Delhi and reports to Head- Procurement and Supply Chain Management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine procurement plan, key purchase criteria for all the supply components, & sub-contracting of services related to PV systems, according to inputs from project development team, execution team & adhere to the project schedule
- Compilation of technical specifications & forward request for Quotation (RFQ) to the approved vendors.
- Shortlisting, negotiating, and finalizing EPC, Supply and Services contracts with international vendors
- Procurement Compliance including draft procurement policy and procedure for the respective countries, safety norms while performing all activities w.r.t.to material procurement as well as contract management.
- Manage international logistics including custom clearance, tax structure etc.; engage with external logistics service providers
- Develop an understanding of the current trends in the solar supply chain, support on the cost structure for current, upcoming, or prospective projects
- The candidate shall be open and willing to learn new skills and shoulder additional responsibilities.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a core engineering discipline (electrical/mechanical/civil) from an accredited college or university and/or MBA in Operations or Material Management
- Basic contract law and strong commercial knowledge-base with respect to renewable project contract types
EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant cumulative work experience of 4-6 years of overall work experience. Around 2 years' experience in the renewable energy industry is desirable. Preference would be given to somebody who has worked in solar industry & has experience in international procurement.
- Handled Procurement for Solar and/or Wind generation (preferred experience would be in PV System components & other BoS components)
- Experience in international supply and logistics, including customs clearances
SKILLS:
- Software Skills: Fluent in MS Office product including PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word
- Ability to understanding the norms & practices in renewable power sector preferably in developed countries/regions e.g., EU, NA, AUS
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capability.
- Capability to assimilate data from various secondary sources and provide relevant insights for top management.
- Independent, self-starter, team-oriented and confident in his or her abilities.
- A team-player with ability to deal with multiple stake holders and cross functional teams.
- Good communication skills - written, oral and presentation.
- Time management, highly analytical, execution mindset and attention to detail
- Knowledge & proficiency in using MS Office skills including Excel, PPT, Word, Outlook etc.
