Background:
In the United States, a new TV broadcasting standard has recently been ratified by the US Governments' Federal Communications Commission referred to as ATSC 3.0, this new technology literally doubles the broadcaster bandwidth pipes for the same amount of spectrum utilization apart from providing the ability to deliver broadcast TV signals to mobile devices. Coinciding with the widespread network build-out and adoption of 5G technologies by US Telecom operators, the new standard, is poised to revolutionize TV services, significantly alter the IoT landscape, and is also poised to impact the connected car/autonomous car automotive industry. The broadcast industry and the telecom industry are expected to witness unprecedented levels of cooperation and synergies across all dimensions of offering digital communications and content services to consumers.
About the position:

You are a PM because you chose to be, and because you innately understand that Product/Software Engineering is more a discipline than an art. You are a highly mature individual and can work with all personalities and all types of challenging environments. You are very comfortable managing individuals who might believe that creating exceptional software is an art. However, you are the pragmatist, the process-oriented, attention to detail task master adept & skillful at managing teams, people & projects.
In this position, as a head of PMO for 200-member engineering product organization building & operating a cloud platform, you will lead a group of scrum masters & product owners in adopting agile methodologies across the organization both from an engineering process as well as from a work culture perspective.
Must-Have domain-specific technical skills:
1. Served in a leadership role inside the PMO of a High tech product organization with a global business operation
2. Simultaneously, directly managed a team of atleast 12 CSM's and CPO's and business analysts
3. Prior PMO responsibility should have involved delivering simultaneously multiple products to market.
4. Must be a highly comfortable & seasoned practitioner of the agile process.
5. Proven years of expertise in innovatively & creatively monitoring and measuring productivity, team performance criteria, team velocity etc.,
6. Must be a self-starter in identifying the right tools & data points for the agile process for a platform product organization embracing DevOps, CI/CD processes.
7. Demonstrated capability in understanding new technology and business domains
8. Understands the Platform marketplace and digital platform economies and technology winds shaping this digital future
9. Understands a true PMO for a high tech product organization needs to be technical and deeply understanding of the domain and is willing to embark on the necessary deep self-learning exercise on a constant basis
10. Prior experience in Media, Telecom, E-Commerce, Platform companies is a must have requirement
11. Prior experience in authoring complex requirements documents is essential
12. Must have been a part of the growth journey - taking a product company from an early stage (50 members) to a global footprint stage (500+ members)
13. Needs to be comfortable reporting to internal stakeholders, top management and to clients and partners.
14. Must be highly presentable with exceptional communication skills.
Must have Engineering Leadership Skills:
1. Expertise in UML diagrams in support of HLD & LLD process.
2. Author high-quality requirements documentation.
3. Mentor teams as a leader if not a manager.
4. Deep understanding & respect for the Agile process.
5. Experience in working with the culture prevalent in product development organizations.
6. Passion to create high-quality software product.
7. Highly ambitious for success & growth.
